Worst decision possible....

Speaking in your interest, because in many modding years i'm now prepared to such bad news, i think this was the worst decision that could be made.
You have abandoned a project that wasn't the only to change the entire universe of the game but for sure the most interesting. And this in particular because W40K fans like me long awaited a game similar to this mod.
Many RTS have been developed in these years but the're all the same. Now with EaW you had the fantastic idea to change your aims from C&C to introduce players in a completely new enviroment that marries greatly with the original. Your decision is simply a step down. Something like a devolution, because models for Tiberium will only be the graphical part of a poor project that is based on an and boring game style. If i want and RTS in 40K universe i'll keep playing Dawn of war. The ace in this mod was the space, an element that is too often forgotten in these games. Now you decided to make a mod that already exists and is called Dawn of War. You won't have better graphics neither... I think your mod won't be so much popular in the future.
Sorry for this exlpoit but i thought that a comment was necessary. In particular because the community loses an interesting and innovative modification that even software houses never kept in mind...

Space combat will be there (Right boomer?), and I wouldn't really compare OW2 or C&C3 with DoW. The gameplay is rather different.

you cant even make beam weapons, second, you cant really make any changes to effects or anything so you're stuck with the starwars crap, third you have to go through hell and back to export a model and have it working as it should.. i could go on all day.
Why we chose to switch engines is not really hard to understand, the only cool thing with EaW was the space battles really, everthing was total bullshit, and the so called very moddable xmls were all lies..
besides, GW wouldnt like if we released a beta version with like star wars blaster effects and sounds, its pretty much against their IP rules and could have us sued back to the stone age.
THIS is why we moved on to CnC3, and remember that we'll do our best to make space battles possible for it (There's already shields and fighter bays and probably more in it). And I think you're really underestimating CnC3 the graphics is insanely good compared to EaW (especially the effects). And one of the many cool things that goes hand in hand with 40k is the possibility to have different armour values for the sides, back and front of a tank.
Even if we wanted to, we can't keep working on with EaW, the only kind of mod it works with is Star Wars mods..

I understand your modding problems. I'm modding another game me too and this is a very good decision to give up. I never tried to mod EaW so this was a real news for me. Forgive me but i didn't know anything about it. About effects... I think this wasn't a real problem, until you really wanted to give every 40k weapon it's right effect(plasma and so on). Btw you are the modders in case so i'll leave it there.
I hope to see space battles and i really hope they will reach the level of EaW, but another time: there's already another W40K RTS around.
Let me say one thing last:
If EaW it JUNK as you said, C&C3 IT'S THE SAME OLD CRAP...

Have you even listend to what Boomer said? We are going to try and get space battles working in CNC3. And if you thing converting a land based RTS to have both space and land battles is 'THE SAME OLD CRAP', then there's no place for you to criticise what we are doing.

We're not doing a god damn Dawn of Frickin War clone, Dawn of War is totally close combat oriented while CnC3 is MUCH MUCH more open.
