US infantrymen. Armed with assault rifles these are the backbone of US motorized infantry.
I would like to hear your opinion.

Looks good. I like the idea of using the XM8. The XM320 barrel-mounted grenade launcher would look good on those rifles. :p

The XM8 was canceled.

Now although its German H&K, http://world.guns.ru...ault/as75-e.htm this looks much more realistic to put in judging by the M-8's cancellation.

I forgot to say: :thumbsupsmiley: Kick Ass Infantry!

Well, i hear this not for the first time, but XM8's cancellation still wasn't confirmed by globalsecurity.org and world.guns.ru. These are the only websides i trust in this matter.
By the way, another thing we were noticed of, is the commission of ACU's. Is it true that wooden layouts are no longer used by the us army?

The only recent camo pattern I've seen is this: Posted Image

And surely you've seen these already. I forgot all about them.

As much as I love those infantry, I feel they aren't the most realistic assuming this is a near future war.

Yes, as i have mentioned at moddb i knew about it, but didn't think they were serious about this.
So, what is the state of things? Should we change our guy's camo? And what about SOF then? Rangers? SEAL?

And one more thing - could somebody explain me, how this ACU could be more effective than old jungle camo? It doesn't seem to make any sense - while it may suit for desert, or cityfight, in jungle he would be easily spotted.

Oh, and what about vehicle camo? Hope they aren't going to change it too? :p

ACUs are standard, whether desert or jungle, thats all we use now.
If you were going for a special forces unit,Id go with the Rangers.

I was thinking of implementing both rangers and SEAL.
So, how should they look?

i personally wouldnt add the SEALS to tell you the truth, but if you were to add Rangers id say put em ACUS like everyone else, except rather than MITCH helmets put em in Boonie hats.

And what about SEAL?

well if you were to add SEALS,youd keep em in BDU's such as the desert or jungle BDUs,because the navy and airforce both still use BDUs as their uniform

Nice, give em M4's and ACU and they're perfect. The XM8 is deader than a doornail and I highly doubt the army will do the smart thing and adopt the SCAR for all infantry, not just SF, so expect to see the M16 family hanging around for a few more years.
