I am helping my friend with this one. But I need a little more help.

For some damn reason my friend has his hard drive write-protected which he doesn't know how it got like that. I tried to look for Security Configuration Manager if that is what it is(I looked it up in Wins help and support). But I don't know how to access it or if I can because his drive is write protected.

He is asking me to do this because he has files on his HD that he would like removed but it won't delete.

You can't actually write-protect a drive. I'd say it would be a security issue, but we'd need more information.

What operating system? (if XP, home or pro - it does make a difference) What file system?

There is in vista new feature what can secure the hard drive with protect so that user can't do anything without password..

I have talked with some sysadmins whose don't like it a bit..

XP pro(I think, I didn't get a good look).

Yeah I know I thought the samething but for some damn reason he is getting a error that is saying"can't do that operation because the disk is full or write-protected". It only says this when he remove programs manually.
