Hot!c3 or Lauri, where are we with Kotw? What has been done and what is still left?

I feel like working on something today but I'd rather not do something already done...

Hmm...well about a half an hour from where i left off.

I took a long unexpected leave, and Lauri lost steam and is working on something else.
I had to re-format my computer, and played some cod2 afterwords for something different.

Im actually playing the TEA right now, dont worry though i havent lost any steam,

as soon as i can get a hold of hebble who said he would help code then ill start working again,

the only prob is Lauri was are skin\modler, and only did a couple of need things, but thats not his fault its mine.

Anyways if you want to do something you could fix those dam morgul walls, there driving me crazy because i dont now how and there in the way of things. Umh BFME + was cancel and im going to pm Dlots to see if i can use somethings.

Idk i have re download your files and everything but anyways nothing much was done that would make a difference if it was done again.

But i plan on modding again in a few.

GTO already asked about using some stuff, the only thing I'd need is a list, so that I can ask Nightmare or cahik if it can be given away...

Lol, I sent a list of what I was interested in to Dlots already, but you go ahead and put together another list and if there are any new things then he can approve them or not.

If Hebblewhite is still willing to help with the mod we should probably have him help with the AI instead of coding since you and I are better coders then AI'ers (is that a word? :blink: ).

Okay ill have to tell him then, since you were gone he said he would help with coding but if you dont want him too then ill tell hime just to do the AI.

If you dont mind i have some plans for the AI.

well, first... adummy, what are you saying? :O :sleep:

anyways, I can still help you in your mod ;) as long as it's no hobbits, you migth as well give me a little list of stuff to be modeled ;)

also, if hebble doesn't wanna do AI stuff, I would! ;) I love editing AI for factions! :p ;) Making new ai for new factions is worse though :dry: but editing AI for original factions is great fun :D so, if you want I can do that ;)

Awesome, good to know you can help some more :sleep:

Right now I'm going to try to get the backlog of hero/unit models in-game and I'm going to try to fix the morgul castle geometries... I won't know if we need any new models until after that. I'll PM you later to let you know where we stand.

And barring a barrage of school work or a drastic change of heart, I'm back to finish KotW. :dry:

Hmm, well since i have seemed to have found my old notebook of ideas.

I guess ill post all the new stuff here that i wanted to add and whats done,

Isengard:

The citadel or "Orthanc" summons the crebain.

All the heros are done.

New units would be:
1.Wild warg
2.Wildmen
3.Uruk Scout
4.Heavy Uruks
5.Banner Carrier

I changed the powers around but i dont remember what hmm...

I think it was.

All the same except gotton rid of the industry power, because Sarumon has that,
and the last tier power is a summon of a huge fully upgraded Isengard army called "The Wrath of Isegard"

And a mordor orc summon replaced Industry,

The only new building would have to be the Foward siege base that you purchase at the Citadel.


Mordor:

Khamul, Mouth of Sauron, and Gothmog are the only heros done,

Grishnakh, Shagrat, Harad Captain, Nazguls on foot, Nazgul on beast, Gorbag and the Witch king need finished.

Well i have a crap load of new units...

Umh most of the new ones are already in game but here are some more,
Goblin swordsmen, archers, and drummers...

Orc pikemen,
Morgul archers, and banner carrier, the black uruks are already in game.

Rhun swordsmen are in game...

Harad archers and i want to add like an armoured attack troll you can buy.

The last thing is to change the citadel to a morgul citadel or something.

I think the powers are all the same, pretty sure.

All the new buildings are already ingame.


Gondor and Rohan,

I have to finish them or the list anyways.

I want to add like a standard soldier thought to there ranks also.

That should be how it is now


New units would be:

Wild warg and wildmen are ok provided we don't have to make new models for them... though the wild warg seems a little reduntant since we already have warg riders. Uruk scout we already have courtesy of bfme+

Heavy uruks would just be uruks with upgrades (I don't see why we need another unit for that). And I don't really understand what the banner carrier unit does that's different then a regular banner carrier...

Grishnakh, Shagrat, and Gorbag shouldn't take much work to finish... I'll do them soon. Harad capt has been dropped because the model just isn't going to work. Nazguls have a little more coding to do but shouldn't be too bad. WK needs a new model and while I'm at it I'll make a new edited skin for him... could take a bit of time.

Goblin swordsmen, archers, and drummers...

I'll take a look at these guys later as they aren't as vital as the other new stuff. The swordsmen and archers should be rather easy to implement... drummers will be tough and might not be possible.

Are the harad archers in-game? We also now have Rhun archers and an armoured attack troll courtesy of bfme+.

Yep, I've got to finish the new morgul citadel I started way back when. It's just a basic model right now. I have to finish modelling it and then skin it and get it in-game... it'll take awhile.

All the new buildings are already ingame.

I'm actually going to have to work on the morgul buildings because they don't currently have the morgul glow.

I'm working on the rohan heroes right now, and as I'm doing them I'll create a new Royal Guard foot soldier. I think rohan will be pretty good once they get all their new heroes and the royal guards.

I just got permission from Celeglin to use his TEA Hama, Gamling, Eowyn, Legolas, Merry and Pippin and I'm putting them in now... though I'm going to change the powers to be what we had originally planned for kotw. Merry, Pippin, and Eowyn's models work right now... Frodo, Sam, Legolas are WIP... Hama and Gamling I haven't tried yet.

I've got some really basic orc spearmen if you want them. They're basically just the orc warrior with spears, binded to the uruk pikemen anims (although they are some of my better binding work, if I say so myself).

I also have a shielded orc spearmen, bound to peasant anims :sleep:

well, I have Mablung, Damrod and... old-mans' Madril rangerskin ready :sleep: just do the randomthingy and your good to go ;)

also, for the forward siege base, I have an idea... you buy an uruk\orc with a cart or something, and it runs of to the place you want to build it... or, you could use it as a special power, and then it spawns the place you choose, also try to make it unavaliable untill it's destroyed :D

Damn you guys....
Give me a list with 5 models you want done, and I'll do it!! Also, I've already made skins for the wildmen :dry:
and please, don't just Rohan Heroes ;)

also, on the list... is that even balanced? doesn't look balanced at all.... :p

I just got permission from Celeglin to use his TEA Hama, Gamling, Eowyn, Legolas, Merry and Pippin

Watch out there, only certain bits from Eowyn and Merry are available for use because they are for Rhovanion Alliance. You cannot use:
- Eowyn's armoured, mounted, and disguised models and skins
- Eowyn's unarmoured "Shieldmaiden" skin (the white dress with the brown corset thinger)
- Merry's unarmoured model and skin
- Merry's Pelennor fields model and skin

Everything else for them is fine for use though. Have fun :p .

Well, after much confusion on my part I finally realized that I did not have the latest version of Elven Alliance where Cel says what can and can't be used in a readme ;) So hopefully it's all sorted out now. I PM'ed Cel and I've now got the correct file to tell me what's off-limits.

I feel so stupid :p :lol:

Sometime today or tomorrow I'll update the website and do a few other PR things I've been thinking about today. Right now I'm going to go work on some rohan stuff. :p
