New Game From Petroglyph

it's like civilizations, but I wouldn't say they play the same.
from all videos and what not, it is an RTS at heart, no turn based stuff, all real time.
moddability? well, we'll see when it comes out eh?
and yayz, 16th kicks ass!

As for the real-time, yeah it it's in full real-time. Which, in my opinion, would make it much more appropriate to floating a story about an empire or race as a whole, rather than legacy's characters...
As yes, but we'll see when it comes out eh? Its an rts i have to have at this point regardless....

I don't think moving to a petroglyph game would be that great... (yes, EaW is petro obviously)
my faith in them is shattered, absolutely destroyed.
not only do they choose Live for a multiplayer service, forcing us to pay microsoft money for basic functions we've gotten in other games for free, the constant ignoreing of their fans requests/defending Live saying it is better than every other service when it's obviously not, bugs the shit out of me.
just my little rants, but I don't trust these people.

It pretty much takes out the whole point of UAW, since the single player isnt worth the price of a stale doughnut. If i have to pay for multiplayer...pass. I have mmo's that cost more but actually justify themselves for a subscription. Again...this is bullshit.

Its a gold live membership isnt it? Thats bullcrap.

Even though Gold has Conquer The World and ranked matches, and silver only has custom matches, guess what both of them are missing.
the ability to name a game or password it.
laziness on Petros part.
glad I didn't buy UaW.

but not being able to name games or password them isn't due to live, just petro being lazy.

1) Time, they had release schedules they needed to stick to blahblah
2) Lives' limitations
Laziness may or may not be a factor but the designers must have just decided at one stage to scrap it and spend the time developing other concepts within the game.

atleast Petro probably won't go with Live again, you should've seen the backlash from 90% of the petro forum members, not to mention the loss of sales.

Yes....the LIVE thing really pisses me off. Gold required for ranked matches and conquer the world. Single player story shallower than EAW's lol....
Mod wise....it doesnt seem very easy. This version of the alamo engine is much more complicated than EAW's, and given the background story of novus and the masari, i dun think there'll be a space expansion unless it turns out really really popular...i dun think LIVE is helping out there.
As for the esisting framework for mechs...well only one hero unit has the appropriate framework i think. It doesnt exactly have a multitude of gundam-like mechs. Crawling, stereotypically alien mechs maybe...

SUPREME FUCKING COMMANDER FORGED ALLIANCE!
UaW has tiny ass maps, I want a fucking nice looking base, not one that looks like shit.
Supreme Commander's scale is perfect for Gundam.

But you need a hell of a PC to run it.Isn't it OBVIOUS what Strategy game would best serve Gundam outside of EAW?

If I had the skills and the equipment I'd make an engine just for this mod .
Soul 2.4
Background process. Has something to do with some activity going on somewhere. Sorting junkmail, I think. No value or interest. Doesn't do much except hog resource.

BEYOND BELIEF SUPER DUPER CALIDOCIOUS EPIC Air, Ground and Naval Battles!
seems like it would fit Gundam 00 more but my point still stands.
Supreme Commander is easily the best strat game i've played in a long while.

But i hate each and every faction since they have completely shallow backgrounds, repeated units, same play choices.
SC, no space maps either. Thats another problem.
Fin UAW's global campaign. Wasted about 4 hrs of my life. It's fucking lousy...i'll never complain about eaw's galactic map again...

not enough to actually say that each side is unique, but I like the few different units enough.
and I totally agree man, SC is great for mods, but there isn't many mods on it.
It's got one of the best RTS engines and it actually incorporates physics into each shot being fired.
the only good thing they've put into the Alamo engine is the psyhics animation.
