Today Ea released their February podcast, which talks about the Alien side, now officially named the Scrin. If you want to listen to it, find some spare time though, as its over 50! minutes long. In it you can expect (according to EA, I didn't have time to listen to it before posting)

* Art Director Matt Britton discusses the process of creating and imagining the Scrin

* Greg Black gives a state of the union on Balance

* Jason Bender and Greg Black talk about gameplay strategies of the Scrin, the mothership, how to play against them as GDI or Nod...o the list goes on and on

* Fan questions answered by Greg and Jason straight from that 30 something page message board thread that you may have visited

The podcast can be found here (right click to save)

In case you're just too lazy to listen to this (or are too busy to listen to it for 50 minutes long), Gamespot also posted an enitre article discussing the Scrin, including a video. In the article, Mike Verdu himself discusses the Scrin side. This blog will probably also apear on the official cnc site soon. The Gamespot article can be found over here

Oh and last, but not least, check these screenshots:

So the Scrin are officially such.

Well, we knew that. I mean, anyone who's been around probably could guess that.

EDIT: 50 MINUTES of PODCAST! Wow that's long. I'll listen to it later.

BTW, there's a spam bot in the C&C3 files forum. It needs to be dealt with.

I'm neither Hostile nor Banshee but I've done it anyway :)
They turned out quite small, but otherwise they exceed the site layout. The big versions can be found in the screenshots section of the site now :)

Very nice podcast.

I have to say, there are a bit too many giant lasers for my taste, but thats about the only thing that I don't like about the game :ninja: .

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Most of the time advertisal screenshots show quite a few more units on one screen than you'd normally use in a game. (That's my personal experiece at least) And they normally won't shoot all at the same time either :ninja:

The Scrin defense tower? It looks like a wave-shooting jack-o-lantern.

I listened to that long podcast. The most interesting things to come up were Scrin units.

Mothership-moving superweapon, blows one thing up, that blows up anything near, and so on until all nearby units and structures are consumed.

Devourer-utilizes Tiberium for added strength and a considerable amount of additional strength at that. The number is somewhere between 25 and 50 percent.
