Turret is perfect size in the new version, but IMO you should make the barrels more horisontal, but not too much, just a few pixels.

to truly finish it off, i'd repaint the voxel top details with lighter color so doesnt go so dark and lose top details. :mad2:

Well, I have flattened the turret as raminator suggested, and lightened the colours on the top of the turret as Apollo suggested:

Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't look as threatening with the flatter turret :) It kind of reminds me of the apocalypse tank in MO, but I'm not quite sure why though :)

I personally prefer it with the higher turret, like in the concept. But what to you people think? :ninja:

[EDIT] @OmegaBolt- the barrels are... well... barrels! The angle is defined by the tag FireAngle= in the unit entry, the modder can have the barrels at any angle they want! :mad2:

MO used a heavily modified version of that tank :) It was larger and had some of the remap removed :mad2: Though I'm surprised the remap on the barrel tips wasn't removed, it makes them look like a pair of drum sticks :mad2:

I am personally very happy with this version, but if anyone thinks that something should be changed then please tell me! :) I want this to be the best replacement apocalypse tank of all time! :ninja:

ROFL, and thats based on the HVA angle for it. I would advise having the HVA right so that people dont need to mess with the fire angle and can use the default. Besides, fire angle means it moves to that angle when firing or in range to but can move back to the default. So if you don't want a spazzy barrel then I wouldnt use it.

maybe you could make the grey details at the back of the body a bit darker...so they are more noticable (or maybe it´s just my drunken eyes that can´t see :) )

@OmegaBolt- Actually, the barrels on my tank in the HVA builder are flat, take a look:

And it's not just for my tank, look at all the other tanks with barrels in the HVA builder, all their barrels are flat too, but in-game they are tilted. If you look at the rules files, it clearly states under * Unit Statistics *:

; FireAngle = pitch of projectile launch and barrel [0 = horizontal, 64 = vertical] (def=50)

And here's what it says about FireAngle on ModEnc:

Specifies the vertical pitch of this object's barrel, if it has one. 0 means "horizontal", increasing values rise it upwards, and 64 means "completely vertical". It only works if the barrel is a voxel, as this operation takes the VXL file and rotates the contents a certain amount upwards. It does not automagically change the FLH of this object, and appears to influence the starting pitch of a projectile, if it is capable of homing. Non homing projectiles don't seem to be affected.



Now it's my turn to laugh! :lol:

@Everyone- Thanks for your feedback, I had a lot of fun making this unit, as I really hated the tiny Apocalypse Westwood made :grin:

Sorry should of been more clearer I meant basically theres just a outline and and its filled in colour didn't me to be insulting just thought seeing them in game seems to be a lot complicated to make :lol:

actually, a lot of the WW VXLs were just 1 flat colour. it was mainly the yuri ones, aswell as ones with a lot of detail instead of just being flat, that had this sort of speckly effect.

Damn I having a hard time deciding which of the 2 tanks I wanna keep as the default apoc tank and the other one the apoc II which will be a secret unit in the mod that one and the neo apoc both look cool to me! ;)
