I have put together a video with General Grievous doing some of his cool moves. Keep in mind that there are many more animations that we have made for him (four arm mode, idles, attacks, etc.) and these are only a couple. Because the original video was 20mb, the video lost a lot of quality when I uploaded it. Later I might make shorter and higher quality videos of new moves.

Also, we have renders of the CIS Battle Droid and the Homing Spider Droid. Enjoy

Click on the Grievous to see the video.

Nice animations, I know how much work it is to get those right.

The infantry you have, including Grievous, are very detailed. Is it your intention to modify the scale of combat, and really focus on the infantry vs. infantry battles?

Well, the level of detail really backs up what I intend to make about the mod: less 'select all units, then attack move,' and more tactical things where you should actually think about things, distract the enemy with some cannon fodder units while youre primary ones flank the enemy, and just things like that. The scale of battle won't have to be decreased though, because we're taking great care to keep down poly limits and texture sizes. The clones are about exactly the polys of what the normal CNC3 unit is, and Grievous is about four times that of a normal unit. But since Grievous is six times less the size of a normal battalion, having Grievous on the battlefield instead of a normal CNC3 unit battalion will actually decrease lag. I've thought this through very well, and have taken great care so that there aren't any large downsides to playing the mod.

Nighthawk, I feel a bit like that too, I never really liked Grievous until I made him. Now he's my favorite unit. :p

Just reviewed the animation video again after some time. Just simply great work. I love his coughing idle animation. Fits perfectly.

Thanks  . There are alot more anims that I couldn't show because it would take up too much file space, but we have about 6 different attacking, 4 idle, and many more variations so that there won't be too much repeating moves.

We also have a set of special animations for Grievous when he uses his four-arm mode ;) . Those are my personal favorite, but those will have to wait for mod releases... :xcahik_:

How 'bout uploading some of them to your webspace on CNC3.net? You've got unlimited filesize here...

Hmm, good idea. The video above only took about an hour and a half to render, so I think I might be able to put together a video with some four arm animations sometime :p .

You're kidding right?

You realize that this is an RTS, and we can't, unlike some people seem to think, model hugely high poly characters.

This was created off of a high-poly cinematic movie model, and there is no possible way it could be inaccurate. It's almost impossible to create a better model of the Battle Droid while keeping in the same poly limits.

I don't like it either, but that's because I don't like droids :p The model is very good though, IMO.

Hmm, now that I look at it there might be a problem with the smoothing groups. I can make it look better in a newer render anyway.

Also, with or without the new edits, they'll look great ingame.

Then you'll like that we're in the process of making some sweeeet animations for them :p

Hint: MTT's can unload battle droids out like the way they did in Episode 1...and they deploy like they did in the movies.

Probably you can put any units in them, and they will automatically come with one group of Battle Droids.
