KOCOURKOV-ATLANTIA MUTUAL DEFENSE TREATY
Side A:
Kocourkov
Atlantian Empire
Side B: Not Applicable
Conditions: The member states of this treaty shall endeavor to provide for the common defense of all territories and holdings of one another. Additionally, a treaty of non-aggression shall be in effect between these two nations. This agreement does not authorize military access or base construction without prior agreement.
In the event that one member nation does not assist another in a defensive conflict, that member shall be banned from the treaty. If two member nations go to war, they will be banned from the treaty.
Term: Permanent unless dissolved by both nations or by violation of the conditions of the treaty.
This treaty is open to new members.
This treaty does not include any pre-conditions.
The member states must unanimously agree to allow another nation entrance into this treaty.
The criteria for an entry into this database are as follows:
Side B is only to be used if one set of nations is giving something to the other (E.G. economic aid or a trade deal). In that case, the recipient nations are placed on Side B.
In each side, one name is to be bolded, except in the case of Side B in an economic aid package. This bolded name is the Side or Treaty Leader. In the case of an alliance, this nation essentially determines the fate and course of that alliance. In an economic aid deal, this nation is responsible for seeing that the aid is fairly and properly distributed to the recipient nations. In any treaty, this nation carries more pull, and is sometimes chosen simply because it is a larger or more powerful nation than the other member countries.
Pre-conditions would be something such as a fee for entrance into a treaty, or a requirement for prospective member nations to meet before being considered for admission. This could be anything from military strength to a declaration of war against a common foe.
Alliances and non-aggression pacts are commonly cemented in times of war. It is not uncommon for an alliance's term to last only as long as the current war. For real life examples, see every alliance the French ever entered.
