You also have to remember that the X-wing series is seriously biased towards starfighters; it would be virtually impossible to destroy an Imperial-class Star Destroyer with a single Y-wing, for example, or do some of the other things that you can in the games.

Or kill an SSD with an A-wing. Which - oddly enough - actually occurred in canon hehehe.

Although at least in the X-wing series I'd survive the kill. :p

Crynyd didn't destroy the Executor when he crashed into the bridge. Hitting the Death Star II destroyed the Executor. Had the Death Star II not been in the way, somebody would have regained control from one of the secondary bridges.

Good point. I wonder why so many people miss it?

Hehe. Well, I actually do understand. Having been a SW fan for exactly 31 years now (yes I was in the theatre for ANH 31 years ago) I'm pretty familiar with the hot-button A-wing issue fans so *love* to harp on. But it wouldn't have befit my offhand 2 bit comment to add a 5 paragraph disclaimer, now would it? :p

Just a little poke at the X-wing games, actually. You could dominate an SSD with an A-wing. My poor attempt at humor was lost somewhere in the technical manual. *grumble*.

Ohhhhh no. Close, but NO CIGAR. Muhahaha.

It's ok, I don't know 1/10th of what you guys know about SW tbh. I've read some of the X-wing series; that's about it. :p
Although... turned 32? It came out in '77, 31 (well, 30 and a bit) years ago. So you would have been 1 y/o? I was only 5 y/o myself hehe..

which is mostly what I seemed to have missed lol.. though I admit that I kinda slacked off during the Vong invasion (mostly due to lack of money at the time).. and yeah.. I'm a nut like that.. I actually study the ship stats and ome of the mythos lol.. not that I follow it like a religion.. I just find it very interesting.. Star Trek would be another good one to follow.. but short of the series and the movies they have NO canon.. so it's just ship stats.. no canon stories to read and learn and all that.. makes it less interesting for me... B5 is better then Star Trek in my opinion.. but that's me (shugs) and this isgtting way off topic

one would think... but that is the story I was told.. though all the copyright dates say it was released n 77 my mom insistes they saw it then.. I have also heard other people say the same thing.. that the original came out in 76.. not 77.. but seeing as how I was either not there.. or too young I can't say one way or the other.. either case.. I've pretty much been a fan all my life :umad:

Heh, I was born in the dark times (the 80s), before Dark Empire and Zahn rescued the EU.

I still can't believe 90s kids are allowed to drive. When did that happen?
