Due to a massive bot posting on that forum with porn links, including rape content and porn images. It has been decided to only allow registered users to start topics there.

For all those who can delete posts, it is being a hell of a difference :p. At least for me it is, since I used to delete about 10 posts per day there...

I find it interesting that the bots don't just try another forum. Stupid bots.

I think revora needs a difficult CAPTCHA. I mean difficult for a bot, not difficult for a human.

It reduces the spam there, but the other forums aren't imune to it.

Told you guys to edit the posting form and have a css hidden blank field called "topic" or whatever the topic form field is called in HTML. If someone fills it out, the post won't get accepted - it's just too simple. Normal people won't fill it out cause they won't see it if you put display: none; into the style attribute. Do I have to repeat myself?

It probably won't make much difference, since the bots are programmed to only fill out a specific set of fields anyway.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Then rename one of the fields, create a hidden on with the correct name, then script up a rejection if the hiddens filled, and set the original fields name back on submission.
Or you should see if you can reject anything with a :xcahik_: post icon, I think we could all live without that :)

Well, try and read what I said again. I said try to imitate one of fields used in posting the topic by changing its name and giving its name to the fake field. Bots fill it out, and find themselves unable to post. It is gonna need minor changes to the php code, but it works flawlessly.

That would probably work...for a few days  after that the bots will just be adapted :evgr:

Why would anyone go out of their way to adapt a bot for the purposes of making it visit this one single insignificant forum?
