Hello everyone! I've recently released the OS BIG Editor. This program will allow you to view, create and edit .BIG files from C&C3. However, I must admit that, at this moment, it allows you to browse and extract the files only. This program is an open source alternative for Final BIG, that doesn't support the RefPack compression introduced on C&C3.

For those who downloaded any old version released yesterday, here's the change log:

OS BIG Editor 0.4 Changelog:
- revisions by Banshee:
- Added: Parameters supported. Using "bigeditor.exe myfile.big" may open myfile.big if it exists.
- Added: Selected file full name, file size, compressed size and compression rate.
- Added: Online Help, Support and Get Updates and the first readme file and liscense included.
- Updated: Interface was updated to disable the features that don't work..
- Bug Fix: Extract now extracts all selected files, instead of only one.
- Bug Fix: The program no longer loads the whole file in the memory.

Support for this tool is available at the CnC Editing Tools forum at Project Perfect Mod (guest posting allowed).

You can download it HERE. If you own a fan site, you can place this program on your site for download. If you wanna modify it, go ahead. But on both cases, make sure that I am credited for my efforts and that jonwil is credited for his RefPack Decompression code used in the program. Have fun!

Thanks. The next version will still be a viewer, but there will be drag and drop extraction, TGA Viewer, among other interface improvements.
