Omnicron Superweapons

Hey folks, need your opinion once again. I have an idea which involves the Psychic Beacon. What it will be is a Superweapon that when "launched" makes the building fire a psychic pulse from its base and can mind control everything 20 cells from itself (it will need to recharge for a few minutes though, maybe 6 like the Mutator). Might sound too good, but then I want it to replace either the Forceshield or Genetic Mutator.
Many people say the Genetic M is useless (which it is when the enemy has barely any infantry) and now since the Mutants it makes are worthless you cant even exploit it for money! So, maybe this super base defence should replace it.
The Forceshield is actually pretty good imo, it can protect buildings from Super strikes while the Beacon wont be able to. But then it may be just too good with both?

I don't know what you exactly changed in the Forceshield, but I usually find it quite useless. So go with option #4.

Well I think that the beacon should replace the mutator. I mean seriously, you can avoid the mutator's effect easily, just place all your infantry inside transports, and it's a useless power-consuming space-taking block!
You can turn the mutator into a variety of different things, its a very flexable image. If coded right, it could be turned into a giant laser tower! (for a mission, perhaps).
So yeah, remove the mutator. Beacon all the way!

Realism is so overrated it isn't even funny. You already know what happens in reality, how is that entertaining...?

The Beacon sounds like a good idea but it shouldn't replaces the GM... It should not be buildable and can only be found in campaign
They shall perish...
