I use blender extesivley to do 3d modeling (for RCT3) and am use to it, and I want to stick with useing it. So is there a converter that will convert w3d files into blender files, or a format that blender can read (eg 3ds or ase etc)

Well, I havent heard of any w3d importer/exporter for blender. The only thing i can think that would work is exporting w3d files to 3ds (from 3ds max) and importing them to blender.

unfortunately EA uses 3ds max, and therefore W3D tools only work with 3ds max.

Try w3d-> import to gmax -> export to .3ds (with the help of one of the many plugins) -> import to blender.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

that still won't give you decent use of w3d materials and all their stuff. i guess it can be used for just making meshes, though

I saw a 30 minute tutorial on how to make a person in Blender. And this topic makes me wonder if I should attempt to enact my idea of making unit and building models in Blender and then exporting them as 3ds so I can open them in 3ds max 8...
