in real life the gun on the archer faced backwards because it was designed as an ambush tank, so it could shoot and then drive forward RIGHT away and survive

The Archer has been modelled backwards. However in RA2, units must move in the direction that they fire in. This means the Archer will move backwards around the maps. :?

As for it being an ambush tank, those tactics were developed after the tank was constructed, as the rear facing gun made it akward to wield. Initally, the gun was mounted that way since that was the only way they could fit the gun to the chassis... More info here: http://users.swing.b...et/560.html#685

In some respects, it is a bit like the german TDs - they weren't designed with their well-associated role/tactics in mind at the time of construction either.

////Now, this should really be in the Analysis section, so I'll move it if you guys don't stay on topic please 8) ////

If the discussion about the archer continues i'll spit the topic so don't worry ;)

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Andre 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Those A15 versions look odd... can't put my finger on it... did you take another aproach to making this voxel?

The green line on the watersurface looks out of place... i liked the shadow (look at Lion) better.

i think thats because the lion's hull shape is that way while the hood's one is straight down? maybe use a non-remap red for that, or just make it grey and remap other parts

Lion's is about 4 pixels off the floor that's why the shadow is wrong (need to fix that)

I can make the bottom of the hood non-remap but most of the other ships have that... :| & I think it looks fine

BTW Added HMS Revenge

I like the muddy tracks and wheels, but not the trackhousings... the colours look wrong against the green olive. On the tracks though, it shows them up nicely (and they are in 'shadow'so look better).

Hood looks good to me, well done.
