Yeah, kind of... That's EA for ya :D
But actually I don't remember hos the original upgrade looked, but it surely wasn't Mithril though, and the upgrade shows a Mithril shirt on the button, so... ;)

Nice screens.
And I just must wonder why all the Heavy Armours are gold because as far as I know gold isnt the most protecting material ;)

*lol* Sure, what color should they be? I haven't read the books in years, and they're not in the movies... ;)

Otherwise I agree... there must be a Warhammer fan in the EA crew :/

Gloin is in the movie, he arrives with Gimli

Here is a page with the 'correct' pics for him and Dain if you feel like changing them both

Here we go...

Gloin with white hair. I kept the bald head though cause I like it. He's the only one in the game with a bald head so it ads variety :p He's shown here with the new HA upgrade for Dale Archers with Mithril... instead of the former "ketchup and mustard" look.

Maybe give the mithril more of a silver/shiny/metallic look? And I shouldn't use it for all the dwarven units, otherwise they all look the same. But good job :p.

hmm, I'd like some leather for Dale... cause, well... I doubt that the dwarves would willingly give away Mithril, however their amount is :p

Yep, that's what I meant. Could that be done? Just some more leather/metal/gold, instead of mithril?

Off course it could be done, but the only reason I did Mithril is because the upgrade is called Mithril and has a Mithril shirt on the icon. This goes for all Dwarven HA upgrades regardless of unit type :)

But I guess I could do leather instead, and ad that to the tooltip for the upgrade like "Purchase Mithril and Leather upgrade"... All the dwarven units will have Mithril though, but I agree that maybe the Men of Dale should have leather... I'll consider it :p

Also: I think Ill rename the Diamond Mine to Mithril Mine, which will explain the amount of Mithril used somewhat better then. The mine only delivers resources every 2nd minute, but it gives $500, so maybe Mithril would suit the dwarves better than diamonds...

Leather? The people who are allied with the greatest armour-craftspeople in Middle Earth, and they use leather as their heavy armour?

Jeez...

Give them mail!

Thanks Zimoo... that kind of backs up my initial intention. So I think I'll stick with it... lol.

BTW: I might also mention that I have reskinned all the rest of the ugly Golden Armor now into a less "goldish" style or into pure grey metal. The Wild Men have regular chain mails now (but when do they get the upgrade in game???)... For Elves I kept the "gold" but made it into less of the mustard yellow and more like, not gold, but as I imagine it, some kind of metal that the Noldor uses. Lets call it "Elven metal of unknown origin that happens to look somewhat like gold" lol

I'll take screens of them all in a bit... :p

Yeah, mail is cool, but chain mail, not mithril... Same-looking upgrade for every unit is boring :p .

If you want to remove the golden armour, then may I point out that Gondor's colours were black and silver, i.e black cloth as basic clothing, with silver armour just like in the films

Yes I know, thanks Gollum. I allready have that look in the reskins that are in Beta v1.1 (that is out now), but I'm just gonna make them a bit darker to match the movies better :D Screens are coming up...

And here we go... the SEE edition of Gondor skins. Shown here are a bunch of Gondor swordsmen in HA and FB (the nice blue glow that all should have for FB). The BC shows (as always) the "light" version of the armor (non upgraded), so they will all look like that before upgraded. Black cloth with metal plates - just like in the movies! :)

Notice that I left one skin from the "old" (first edition) brighter and shinier reskin in the foreground for comparisons. It's the trebuchet soldier, but naturally they've got the same look now too. This looks more like metal now, and not like silver. At least I think so... :D Kind of like with the Uruks in other words. Hope you like it.

Aaand Elven units without HA... (removed the overly stong blue tone of the Mithlonds)
Posted Image

And with HA... (less yellow). The cavalry uses the same adjusted look for both riders and horses :D
