can you tell how to set FOD cp to 300 and FOL to 200 on a 6 person multi player map. I already know how to get to cp options in worldbuilder.

In the GameData.ini file there are the CP limits.

On the T3A web site there is this tutorial on how to edit the CP limit if you need more info: GameData Tutorial

EDIT: or did you mean that you are making a new map and you want the CP limit different for just that map? If so, you'll probably need to make a map.ini file and change the cp limit that way... I don't think WB can edit the cp.

Basically all you do is label the file "map.ini" and inside it needs to contain this code:

GameData
  GoodCommandPointsMP56 = 200 	; 5-6 players
  EvilCommandPointsMP56 = 400
End

Then stick that file in the same folder as your map "ApplicationData/Battle for Middle-earth/yourmap"... or whatever the file path is.

hmm, maybe notepad won't work... try copying an INI file and renaming it.

Yes he understands what u mean, he's saying instead of making a notepad ini for your map ini, copy a .ini file from you bmfe game and just delete the stuff in that and the right what u want.

won't make a difference. INI files are just plain text files
on top of that, opening a file and then saving it give the same result as creating it and then saving it :cool2:

check out this list for WB tutorials, including one about map.ini:

You don't need to do any of that to change the cp in your map. Instead, open the scripts menu in WB and create a new script with the following conditions:

if true

Override command points for player ____ to total: ____ maximum:____

You'll find the override command points under the player scripts.

A note on map.ini files. You can't change the gamedata. It will not do anything

But you can't use scripts to change the FOL/FOD CP as far as I know. It is just per player.

Playing games? Ah, you'll never be a good modder if you get involved in actually playing them!

I know nothing of mapping, but couldn'y you use a script to determine which faction is being used by each player?

Althoguh a map.ini sounds much easier ^^

You can, but as far as I know you have to a "If Player_X is Faction_Y" for each player and faction combo

but that doesn't help with the FOL FOD issue, does it? It would just give all the guys the same CP.

ohh u mean u'll like to have difrent cp for fod and fol?

then i would say:

IF Player_* Is Faction Gondor
*OR* Player_* Is Faction Elves
*OR* Player_* Is Faction Dwarves

THEN Override command points for player_* to total: * maximum: *

ELSE Override command points for player_* to total: * maximum: *
