Do you have skins for both Low Armour and Heavy Armour, that isn't all gold-like?

ugh I hate that gold EA armor with a passion... /rant

However, I'm not sure that we do have specific upgraded/non-upgraded skins for everybody yet. But we probably could do it easily enough since it's just skinning either new heavy armor or more likely creating the fabric armor.

Right, thanks, I can tell the Gondorian skins will have LA and HA skins, but what about Mordor, Isnegard and Rohan?

Well like I said, it's not all that hard to make new ones... it's just a matter of having (and devoting) the time to do so. At this point I really don't know if we will take the time to do this or not (or if we already have other plans that I've forgotten about :p).

The one thing I am sure about is that you will not see any gold armor in the game unless the unit should have it such as the rohan heroes or the Citadel Guard maybe.

One alternative we had discussed was removing the gold armor and lightsabers and simply denying the opposing team the knowledge of which units were upgraded and which were not... something much more true to life. But if we can easiy skin some new light or heavy armor skins for the units then we will probably do so.

The forged blades, yeah, I would agree with, but you can sort of look at someone and tell if they're wearing heavy armor :p
And, if you do that, you yourself might forget which units you upgraded :p

Could you tell me why the Nazgul aren't intended to be good sword fighters?

Is it due to Aragorn managing to beat them.

Well if I recall correctly, somewhere Tolkien states that the nazgul were never good fighters, or at least that was not their purpose. Their purpose was to create fear in the opponent and allow the evil minions to kill them. And I know for sure that Sauron never sent them out to fight as champions, they always were doing special tasks for him or serving as the overal commanders of the battles, fortresses, war effort, etc.

Maybe someone who remembers more can help me out on this... it's been about a school year since I've read the books :shiftee: but I'm going to fix that this month.

Edit: Aragorn beating them has nothing to do with it. Again I'm pretty sure Tolkien states somewhere that Aragorn owned them due to his surprise attack, the fire he had, and the fact that he was the 'last' descendant of numenor (something to do with how the nazgul could feel or tell somehow that he was no ordinary man... I think...).

Yeah, they were not bad by any strech of imagination, it was stated in The Fellowship that even Glorfindel and Aragorn together could not take all 9, but of course the 9 were on horse and they on foot.
But remember, it also said that they would not attack The Prancing Pony, because of all the people, unless they grew truly desprete.
So, it really boils down to the modder's opinion :shiftee:
I, personally, would see if it's possible to make them strong agaisnt single units, but weak agaisnt larger numbers. Maybe low health but high damage?

That is still my hope and goal. I currently have no plans for the summer other than to work on this but that may be subject to change if I have to get a job or do any other 'more important' things.

I've always imagined the Nazgul as being debuffers, weakening the stats of all nearby enemies through their mere presence rather than being great fighters themselves, although they should have some sweet skill attacks aswell of course :p

Nice to see you still going strong GTO, I named one of my LOTRO characters Zimootheorc in your honour :wink_new:

Playing games? Ah, you'll never be a good modder if you get involved in actually playing them!

I have a question: will all the modifications of KotW be available in Campaign? I'd love have Gothmog leading my orcs troops for example ^^

Unfortunetley GtO doesn't plan to modify the campaign in any way, for instance adding new heroes. But I'd still want to see more heroes on the evil campaign.

I've been following this mod for a while, and it looks fantastic, & if its due to be released in the next year, that makes it all the better, as the only other mod i'm really looking forward to playing, the Rhovanian Alliance, has no release date, and making something of this scale is going to take a long time.

I would also like to point out that it shouldn't be too difficult to add the units into the campaigns, as I have managed it once before, using a hero I created myself. Only problem is that I added him into Moria, and he ended up down a ditch somewhere, but I'm sure someone with a little more skill than myself could put heroes at least into the campaigns, even if they were just parts of existing armies.

Keep up the great work!
I hope to be able to play this mod soon!

Ditch
