I have a Problem with cnc generals.
I installed it and when i start it, it brings up the ea ad and the intro movie, but then after the the generals loading screen it closes and says a serious error has occurred.
Please help, have any suggestions on what to do?
My computer is HP Pavilion, has 256RAM, and is windows ME. (if this helps any)

Did you mod the game in any way? Have you tried patching it?

Your RAM would be the main problem, as you want at least around 512 MB for it. As for it having any quips with your OS, wouldn't surprise me, as I think Windows ME was the glitchiest of the MS bunch.

I've seen people playing it with 256 MB (on Windows 2000), I don't see why the game wouldn't start up because of that. I do agree that I think ME was pretty glitchy.

Well.... i forgot to tell you guys that I fixed it because my computer got reformated and everything and now i got new software and everything......it works now so no worries but thanks for trying to hwlp....
i think the problem was the video card or w/e wasn't installed correctly.

I run Generals on 128 RAM, just takes about half an hour to get a game going...

man ur computer a bit too slow and windows are quite old, get more RAM, change operating system, and maybe change graphic card, everything should work. I have 1.2 RAM, 256MB graphic card and Windows XP and i still have lag on maps with 8 players or maps with city on the lowest graphics, also if AI builds too much units then i got same problems.

He already fixed the problem - but I agree, a new computer is in order there. I played an Internet Ra2 game and after para-dropping, oh, say, around 15000 units (Modded map), we crashed the game server. Although there weren't any repercussions, I would say that people weren't happy about missing a server for 3 days. lol. I was surprised our computers or games didn't crash first, but he called me up and said, nice one, you just blew the server.
