Huh, so it is possible. Still I don't like having 2 radar out post, one for land & air.


Kinda like a strategy center sorta thing.
Have a radar and you can set it for "Vehicle" "Aircraft" Or "Infantry" :p

I am a big contra fan, but some thing annoy me.
1 - Contra adds lots of new stuff, great. But when you select unit/building with many upgrades you have to use the arrow up and down to scroll the upgrade menus. Would it be hard to make those upgrade icons 50 % smaller so they would all fit in?
2 - To add some realism, could the tanks have even small machines guns so one rgp soldier couldn't not destroy 10 tanks.
3 - Why does the stealth bomber unstealth when attacking, it's no point sending 40 planes when none of them come back.
4 - NEW IDEA AWAC SPY PLANE to detect stealth units. and more realistic planes to gla, silly planes on explosion general are too much to me. A cessna with a scud attached to it would be more realistic i think. Or the range of a scud missile would be greater, much greater.

Nope It's hard coded. 12 is the max. That's it.

Nope. It's balanced this way.

Because when the bomb falls out they look up and notice a big black thing.

it's no point sending 40 planes when none of them come back.

Did the target get destroyed? If not you really need to work on your strategy. Send some planes to take out AA then the main force to attack said target.

Wow. That would be OTT. It already defends against all missles and the such and now you want stealth too?
Just send in a spy drone near the AWACS guard area.

Oh and you think that a gigantic tank with a lightning coil on top isn't too silly?

Yeah. The SCUD would fire then the Cessna would go flying into the ground. A Cessna is a light civilian aircraft. No way it could fire a SCUD.

No. The SCUD is the GLA's Heavy Arty. All the sides have a balanced Heavy Arty.

And on a side note. Your a GLA player aren't you?

Its a piece of realizm. Stealth planes such as Raptor of F-117 become visible when they open bays to drop a bomb or launch a missile.

Or the range of a scud missile would be greater, much greater.

You know what? Scud fires 3 times farther than an artillery cannon. Artillery usually fires 10 times farther than a tank. Tank fires 5 times farther than a soldier. Should we implement all these features in the game? What will be with ballance?

Thats an interesting point... it COULD be made to ballance, but it certainly wouldn't be the same game... it would be alot more like SupemeCommander... And I'm not sure thats a good thing.

And another detail to go with that... Long range missiles like the SCUD or Tommahawk are actualy much more voulnerable to Anti-Missile Systems than smaller missiles. The patriot was designed just for intercepting missiles like the SCUD, and would suddenly become a major factor in that game balance.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

Hey,

I read about gripes over the Laser General's units needing power and I thought of a suggestion: Implement Power Drones. The basic model of the drone can look like anything from a Battle Drone mixed with extension cords. AKA "Wireless Power lines"
They would basically function as levitating drones that stay close to any Laser unit that draws power to provide self sufficient power and free up the power grid. Of course these drones are going to cost: Perhaps the price can be relative to how much power the unit needs. Eg. Laser Tanks need one unit of power and Cold Fusion provides 5 so take price of Cold Fusion divide by 5 for the price of power drone needed for that unit.
Power Drones should not be universally available for every Laser unit that draws power, perhaps only for main battle tanks and certain support units but not the Omega Cannon. As a lvl 5 Super Unit it should cause some penalties to the power grid.

Thanks Creator,

Another thing I forgot to mention that will be up to you if you really do implement the idea is that Power Drones can be targeted by AA fire? I would suggest that they cannot be targetted by AA lest it would just create more problems, but once again it is up to you.
Will post more suggestions when I think of them. Mean while, you have done an excellent job Creator! Every version of Contra just gets more interesting and ever so hype!

i like the idea, but isnt there a solar pannels upgrade for all untis already to keep them going if the power is low?

i like the idea, but isnt there a solar pannels upgrade for all untis already to keep them going if the power is low?

Indeed there is, altho i still think we should have massive powerlines following each units LMAO.

But i would rather a building like a propganda tower that builds pretty quick has meduim armor and has a group of solar power arrays around it. The would provide a slightly bigger cover area of say the shield generator, there would give power to all units within this area.

Has anyone played red alert 2?
The telsa soldiers can stand near (upto 4 of them) a telsa coil and boost its power in attack and also if power goes ofline will stay active, So maybe if possable make it so that power trucks/drones can stand near it and also boost there power and radius, so u would have a mobile unit for moving with your forces but u can also slowly build a grid of power pylons. Witch can be boosted if possable by 2 or 3 mobile power units if there near it.

Again these will generate there own power purly for units, And this idea can be for contra V5 or remixV3.

yeah the tesla troopers in yuris revenge and RA2 were good. was a cheap easy tactic, cause it improved the range and power aswell. so instead of it taking 2 bolts to destroy a tank, it would take one. and it sounded and looked cooler :thumbsupsmiley:
i think that is a good idea. but have it as an upgrade to build the unit, and it has the aura. and the building, could be a pylon, that supplys power to the units around it.. like the propogande tower. or instead of having another unit that trawls along with the attack force, it can be an upgrade to another support unit, like the mirthal missile defence truck.

hmmmmm maybe give laser general a tesala coil lol and a nuke MIRV silo, and a SCUD silo. also give him an uber tank to add to his godliness :popcorn:

wait a minute.. he has things similar to this
tesala coil > plasma cannon defences/annihalator
nuke mirv> sattalite caller
SUCD silo> ion cannon
uber tank> Anubus tank lol

I'm concerned about the cheesy efficiency of assault generals Jarmen Kell.
After 3 or so minutes he gets to spawn a limited amount of rebel and rpg troops. The dollar value of the spawned troops pretty much cover the cost of making the Jarmen Kell, and this gets repeated every 3 or so minutes multiplied by however many Jarmen Kell's you choose to make + the salvage spawn + the Fact Jarmen Kell is diamond hard.
A free basic standing army to stuff into battle buses and make all kinds of mischief or to send to escort tanks or such.
It just does not seem right, it makes me want to choose the assault general to exploit this extra mature cheese.

I don't think you understood what i was gettting at, as i guessing you idea of giving a telsa coil and MIRV silo and SCUD to lazer is a hint of sarcasm....

Read about gripes over pop-up patriots inefficiency in handling aircraft and then went to play as SW General to experiment with this claim. As it turns out, Pop-up patriots are ineffective in handling not just aircraft but also fast moving land units (esp. Demo Combat Cycles)
Suggestion: Implement a sensing field ala radio transmissions or satellite tracking system. This system would notify them of incoming enemies. This sensing field should have a radius 1.5x to 2x the range of the patriot's firing range. The patriot would pop-up when enemies enter the sensing radius but can only fire when the said unit enters the firing range. The patriot will pop-back-in when enemies cross out of the sensing field. But otherwise you get the picture of readying patriots so that they are more prepared to handle aircraft and fast light units.

ofc i knew what u were saying. i was joking baout giving him stuff. all i said was have buildable pylons that work like the propaganda tower. but there is no need for it casue of the solar pannels upgrade. i didnt want him to have tesla coils, i was joking. and i said, if you have to want a unit to supply power, to units around it,just make it be an upgrade for the mirthal truck, so the aura around that supplies power to units around it and stops the missiles, in stead of having a separate unit. the rest was all a joke saying how powerful he is.
