Pheonix, chill out some... he had an idea... he's not the first either. middle eastern countries DO have helecopters, even third world countries have helecopters. They do not have super choppers like the Comanche or the KA-50, but there are plenty of 1970s and 1980s choppers in use all around the world. Both NATO and Soviet retired equipment finds a home with those who will buy it.

I plan to for assault general to have black market units such as migs and hinds. I WILL NOT be giving all GLA choppers, infact, I plan them only for assault GLA.

Aditionaly, I plan to make some extensive changes to the GLA powers lists. There will be more agressive and damaging powers such as Artillery, Scud Strike, bombers, etc...


Now that said, I do agree with the statements about balance. The factions should be different, and I think GLA should be especialy different.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

Yeah, giving Choppers to GLA is a good idea, sth like the Hind and if you take the Hind don't forget it's transport abilities!
And even an Aluette with a 20mm cannon is an enemy for infantry and light vehicels!

i was not saying middle east do not helos and i was not saying its bad they get halos i was saying his reasons for wanting gla to have them were stupid.

Hi idea was all based around the fact us and china have halos and thus he thought gla needed them because they was not balanced as they do not have them.
Thats why i got worked up because the first post trying to get him to understand he ovbuosly did not read. I was trying to get him to learn about balance.

If he wanted halos on all or one of the gla sides then i would be like fine, but his reasons for wanting them was lame.

Maybe you can give the GLA the MI 24(hind) with heavy armor and 20mm cannon and a lot of missiles and replace the Chinese helix with KA 50.
I would really like it if you gave the MIG 25(foxbat) to the chinese as a high speed intercepeter.
It would be really good if you could add some ground attack planes like the SU 25(frog foot) or the A 10(Warthog)with unlimited 20mm. planes does not need to replace the attack helicopters that are in the game now because the plane have to reload anti tank missiles.
I also like the idea with the amphious troop crawler

Pend has already said that assult general is only gla getting an airforce and one fo there units is a hind, i can not say what armorments he is giving it tho.

China should always have teh helix that is uniqe to there side from all the upgrade opsions, also the flame general already has a ka50, and i think he said he was gonna make another version for one of the other china sides but i am not 100% on that last part.

There is a mig 31 intercepeter in the mod already for the china side exclusivly for Anti air role.
Su37 is already in remix 3 and i don't know if it is going to be in contra 5.
Unlimated mg ammo makes problems, Aslong as it has ammo it will keep attacking a target, if it always could fire a mg it would never return to an airfield i beleave.
I would how ever say that the chingun should be powerful enough to damage armor fairly well but with a big scatter area, a10s chainguns biggest gun mounted on a plane not including the miniguns on the spector and such. And it can easly shread a tank in 2.

Amphibios troopcrawlers have been suggested in teh past already i think?
but i like the idea, but the stryker should be amphibos aswell. or maybe make it so the infantry general only has amphibios abilitys.

B52 have long range, they was made this way to make them good vs defence. fighting buildings withm them is pointless. use them for defence and then move in with other airunits or ground forces.
The mig31 is already an advance interceptor and can only attack airunits, its missiles are very powerful.
The americas have always ment to have the advantage in the air, this is why china and gla have more aa units than the americas.

Kinda silly to add a second aircraft to do AA only when we have one, and the mig31 has a big cover area. Try them there are really good, my friend whores them when i am the Airforce gen. And always has liek atlest 1 airfield of them on air patrol for any generals powers that come in via planes.


ps: The demo general has them mini tomahawk bus's and the tomahawks on airfields.
the tomaharws are sucide planes for the demo gen and the bues carry units into the enermy base crashing on landing letting out the units. (atlest i beleave they crash to let them out) Can't really remember not played them for ages since i have remix alpha install'd for testing. and since the remix gla sides and infantry general has not been changed yet i have not played them :p

and the big tank is call the shiatan(sp?) it is the tank general super unit.
It looks evil but infact i hate it, it has a few problems with its locmotion/attack coding. Pend is looking into it to make it work better for remix3 and creator maybe will fix it, but idk if creator thinks it has a problem or not. But try it your find it is FUBAR ^_^
Once it is fix'd tho it will be pretty evil.

Yes this will be cool, i just hope they are worth bulding. ther ehas been 1 or 2 mods with some form of airship in before. blizkreg(sp) and i beleave some mod with russia in both mods had horriable zeppelins as they was slow and shot down so easy.

Hopefuly they will have armor to live longer or anythign that will make them usful.
Kirovs was evil in red alert2 !!!! and they took hits like a emperor tank on crack >.<

another thing that is not powerful at the time is the intercontiental nuke cannon. It said small nuke on the label but it is way less powerful than the bigger nuke.
Maybe only let us get the intercontiental nuke cannon at level 5 after we build the bigger nuke and than make the smaller one more powerful or have a upgrade to make the small one more powerful by adding a upgrade for it in the nuke lunching place.And if that happens adding a upgrade in the scud lunching platfrom for the small scud would be nice too.
HUMVEEs jumping off cliffs like the motor cycleist would be really nice too.

i also think that HUMVEEs should have more speed since they are just jeeps.
i also want different weapons on the HUMVEEs too like the TOW for tanks mg for infantry and grende luncher for buildings. i am thinking maybe make them as upgrades like with the troop crawler for the Chinese tank general.
Maybe all of the Chinese Generals should have upgrades on their troop crawlers.

Umm... All these airforce suggestions are kinda...
Meh. The USA has the best (Well they are unchallenged in that remark)
Airforce in the world. So I we make it so the Chinese Side can
take down a B-52 in two runs.... That's not true... Cause the B-52 has
badass armor... and about the Kirov... If I rememeber correctly once you
took it down it would go BOOM real big. And basically Zepplens are made
weak cause some of the first hydrogen ones were made of cloths....

yep, and I hope if a B52 crashed, it takes a lot of damage on the ground, medium damage radius (just like nukecanon or something), effect anything on the ground.

Well, I wouldn't say a Nukecannon. But sutable fireworks (thousands of gallons of airplane fuel
anyone.) Also onto the suggestions could you add a AI general texture to his command center.
It uses USA basic instead of USA AI. Now a refuller tanker (I've been on one thier GIANT)
could make that kind of damage.

Remix is a mod based losely of contra being made by pend.
it has soem contra elements as it is based around contra 4 but has been heavily mod'd Remix 3 is not out yet but there are plenty of screenies on the forums and there is a remix suggestions thread.

Scuds have there roles, but all artil has been boosted to proform better in remix, infantry general and the gla sides are still waiting to be mod'd, just wait and see :p

Intercontinetal nuke lunchers that the unlimated range nuke cannon right? (i can't remember what its call in game) lol It is not major powered because it can be fired from anywhere it made for balance, ppl can build them and camp them in the back of ther ebase and the enermy will have a hard time hitting them.
This is why they are weak, to make u need LOTS of them to be effective on buildings or for u to use them more tacticly IE: agest packs of units.

I really like the idea about humvess having upgrades to choose the weapons ontop, remix however has added a few different humvees to certain american teams, if u was to make a modular one now it would be like saying one team can have any type of hunvee when the humvees added now was made and add'd to what team they are specific for. (idk if that made sence >.< lmao)

I DON'T however like th eidea of humvees jumping over/off cliffs. Hummers are offroad vehicals but they can't do big jumps like a dirtbike can it would brake the undercarrage of the hummer (humvee's wasalot u know, and there suspenssion(sp?) does not have the travel range for big jumps like that.
The dirtbikes gla use are light and have big suspenssion travel range.

I think this sums up my reasons for not having a mig 25 in for AA. They simply suck :ninja:

I think this sums up my reasons for not having a mig 25 in for AA. They simply suck :p


a 1970s soviet jet would be apropriate for GLA though.

as to mentions of zeplin in other posts. For Remix3 I am looking at making an airship unit, maby 2, for Chem GLA. They will have more in common with the RA2 airships than WW1 Hydrogen zeplins. It will be a super unit with no question about it.

then what about adding a few more planes to the air force General.
I would be fun to fly the gun ship(u know the 1 u get for the generals power).
I was thinking f18,f16,f15 should be a good addition to the air force general.
I dont really like one plane that the US have its the white one dont know what it is called(the one that is usually placed beside the F117)
F117 is a fighter so why does it only attack ground targets. Some multi role fighters would be nice. Maybe mig 29 would be good for the Chinese.
I have so planes from other mods. Take a look and get some ideas maybe? :p

If you go to the USA pics you could see some planes that might a good idea to add into this mod.
the gun ship we have now can be replaced with the second pic(AC130).
Adding the M2A1 could replace the APC(but not HUMVEE).
I would really like it if u add their SR71(fastest recon plane)
On the second page u could see all of their HUMVEEs.
The spy drone we have now could be replaced with their E3 SENTRY AWACS
Their Abrams look really nice too.
check out their black hawk on page 3(i am not telling you people to copy their mod but maybe you guys can get some units from them.
you guys can take some of their USSR stuff for the Chinese. USA stuff for USA or the old ones can go to GLA. I dont know why but i think on that Web the European Alliance pic set is down but maybe you can take some units from the European Alliance side for GLA.Again i am not telling you ppl to copy their things just have some of their units that you think is good and change the skin or something.
Their Helis look really good.(U could c the pilot)

If u click on the USSR side in the site i gave u. U can find a pic of the foxbat and u cant say it does not look like good fighter.
Their B52 is gray while the 1 in contra is yellow(i mean what the hell ?)
Three planes i really want u ppl to consider about:
SU 24,SU27,TU95(Tu 95 is a bit old so maybe Tu160) All Russian planes could be given to the Chinese and the TU 95 could be a counter part to the B52.
Check out their T80. Battle masters could be replaced by them.
They got some good vechiles that could replace the nuke cannons on the USSR section.
The GLA s60 AA weapon sould be replaced by the SA11(also found in the USSR section)
The shilka on the USSR could replace the Gattling tank(what knid of name is battlemaster and gattling tank anyways) :p

Niether Contra nor Remix is designed as a total conversion for ZeroHour. We're just expanding the game play to be as braud as we felt it should have been when it first came out.

Things such as "Why is theres grey and our yellow?"

Theres is intended to be a replica of a real B52. Ours is a replica of the B52 already exsisting in ZeroHour.
