I got a PS3 on the release day with Motorstorm, Resistance, Genji & Click (blue ray film). Now after having it for a while I’m really disappointed with it thus far. Once the coolness of the graphics weared off I’m left with pretty boring games TBH. I’m also shocked to find that backwards compatibility is practicably none existent >_> I have yet to get any of my PS2 games to work on it, PS1 games will work however they have problems with the sound & picture. For example the music on Soul Blade wouldn’t play & the picture is noticeable blurred compared to playing it on a PS2

Blue Ray isn’t all that brilliant either, I was expecting to have brilliantly sharp HD picture quality but it looks no better then normal DVDs. That is if you have a good DVD player BTW, compared to watching DVDs on the PS2 it’s much better tho.

Well my advice to anyone thinking of getting a PS3 is to wait unit there are some good games out for it (in about a years time) & keep hold of your PS2 you’ll need it to play any PS1/2 games you already have.

Why do people bother with sony? We all know they make shit products that never work. Nintendo has always been better. Xbox is ok but its microsoft

I'd just stick with the PC.

You can't really compare the Wii with the PS3.

I'm still fond of our PS2 and I prefer it over an Xbox (never played on one though but not much games that interest me).

I prefer Sony's PS2 over MicroSoft's Xbox. Did you know some Xbox360's make scratches on discs? It was in the newspaper today and they are researching it.

Yes, PS2 still rocks, though I prefer PC games but PS2 is good for none PC games and good for playing old PS1 games so I don't have to get out the console. Though basically the only console games I like are the Resident Evil series... but good ol' Crash and Tomb Raider never fail to entertain.

I won't be getting the PS3 for a long time since I read in GamesTM that the release games are pretty crud. However I will get it for Resident Evil 5.

I'm just waiting for GTA:IV, Grand Turismo 5 & the next Ace Combat game now, I might get Ridge Racer 7 but the last few RR games where pretty naff so I’m not expecting much.

You realize that the next AC is 360-first (not exclusive, but timed exclusive), GTA IV is going to be more worth it on either 360 or PC (DLC, modding respectively), and Forza 2 (the MS answer to GT) is coming out in May, with some of the most realistic, beautiful graphics and physics in a racing sim to date? N64 PDA and PC. Don't feel the need for another. With the exception of the Wii, all new game systems seem to revolve around graphics, and like you mentioned, once you've seen it, its bland. And those shiney new pictures to hide the lack of gameplay are the result of millions invested into the technology and its manufacture, so the games are waay too overpriced.
Most PDA games cost about $10-20 and have to be good to play because they can't support fancy gfx. And it fits in your pocket. IMO, the ultimate gaming platform.

I've wanted a N64 ever since I saw it at a classmate but my parents found it too expensive. We had a CD-I, while it failed to sell well internationally, I enjoyed quite some games on it.

You can tweak a PDA (WinCE) to read the SD card as memory, so it used to have over a gig If only I knew how to do the same on XP...
And if only someone made a port for Diablo...

hey, if it's going to be a toss up between revolutionary user imput and rotten games and tried and true user imput with rotten games then I'll go for the tried and true, if I want something different from a controller I can use my PC.

besides: Xbox 360 = Bungi + Rare = Halo 3 + Banjo Kazooie 3 + Viva Pinata (if anyone bashes me over that I'll kill them) = pwnage

Halo never dissapoints, plus theres that rts which is looking very tasty so far though it's not from bungi...
and Rare just kick ass, they're even better then mario for depth and gameplay.

Nintendo's only saving grace is Zelda, and pokemon, 2 franchises which I love.

Sony just sucks though, everything they make is so generic, there main claims to fame are all just franchised generic games, tomb raider, tekkan etc, they're nothing special. the games are good but so are a few hundred other games that play nearly the same

I haven't came across any game that wasn't an FF that plays like FFX, FFX-2 or FFXII (note that all of them play quite different). I also haven't come across a game that plays like Ratchet & Clank (including the humour) or like Jak & Dexter I.

Likewise I'm not interested in most Xbox games. I guess we all have our preferences.

Tomb Raider is for the PC btw afaik.

Wild Arms 2 plays very much like an FF, even if not in same calibre or even same league in terms of graphics. Oops! That's on Playstation. Up yours, nintyfreaks!

And KOTOR is for the Xbox, too.

Some Xbox games are good. Some get ported from PC, and vice versa. Jade Empire's now on PC and I suggest everyone gets it for either format.
