Harry Potter sucks. Now try to warn me 2play :)

There are always ways to arrange that :xcahik_:
It seems like from the trailer that they're sticking fairly close to the book, but as usual taking a rather large amount of liberties. It will be good, but no matter how well done the movie is, the book will still be better in the end.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

one could complain about those liberties (i'm not saying that's what i think you are doing ), but I actually like them. it wouldn't be much fun if it was exactly the same, and some of the liberties are actually better (e.g. the underground world cup stadium, the 2nd task platforms on the water instead of the lame stands)

Imo propably the biggest disappointment in Harry Potter movie series has been, atleast for me, In third movie Harry got his new broomstick just couple of seconds before the movie ended and everyone who has read the book knows that its messed up :/

really, do you think the broomstick story mattered that much? would the film have been better if he got it in the middle?

btw, i now have the second trailer in HD

Well for some it may not be so big deal but you must remember that it was kinda big part about the book. When Harry got the broomstick, Hermione reported it to McGonagall and Ron got kinda mad about it and I think that it was important and imo it was pretty long time in the book when they were investigating if the broomstick. But thats just my honest opinion.
Anyway this movie is propably gonna be the best one for now atleast. I hope that they would include lots of things from the book considering that the book was so long that movie makers may have to make some edits into it :(

the firebolt had 2 effects:
- it made harry better in quidditch, but since these matches aren't in the film (time constraints) that doesn't matter
- it temporarily seperated hermion and ron&harry, but what does that matter in the end? if you have limited time for a film, there are more entertaining story lines than that one to choose :)

Well okey now lets just put firebolt aside and discuss about something else :)
What is the thing that everyone is most excited to see in Harry Potter 5 ?
Im waiting mostly to see how Hagrid's brother looks like :)

The worst thing about the movies IMO was in the fourth one where it was like "quiddich world cup! OH WAIT you don't get to see it".

5th one was my least favorite/most disliked one too... seemed so contrived and rather corny. It was all emo harry "waaa nobody understands me" which was really anoying after like one page.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

yeah that sucked. the thing that's really wrong with that movie is the distribution of screentime among the different scenes:
- world cup: should have been there
- voldemort: too short
- yule ball: too long

it should have been 3 hours long btw

well the trailer looks good for the movie coz the 5th book confused the hell out of me :crazed: bout a third of the way through, i put it down and neva picked it back up agen, i was tempted 2 start hitting myself in the head with it 2 try and get the story thru

but when i first read the book i had an idea of what everything looked like, some of the movie had betta ideas about the places and otha ideas were a bit crappy compared 2 what i had in mind but the films hv bin great, so i cant wait 2c harry potter 5 :p

I've read all of them in German and English (English being much better of course).

Y'know, I've always wondered how good the translations are... Are they like word for word, a more or less exact translation altered to make sense or is it like an interpretation of sorts that's just very close to the original?
