So now that you've had a chance to actually command some of these units, which one is your favorite?

Personally, I have to go with the Dodonna-class Assault Frigate. The quads make it meaner than a Lancer-class Frigate and it looks so good doing it. I'm very happy how it turned out.

Yeah, I definitely wasn't a big fan of the K-wing until I got it in-game. Now I think I like it better than the Nova Wing.

I really like the K-wings as well. Highly effective IMO.

One question though - how are the headhunters[the ones you get at the beginning of a GC] so good against ties and the like? I thought they were pretty useless? [I think I may be wrong though]

Well, anything that spawns out of a space station is pretty useless because it doesn't (can't) upgrade. Upgraded Headhunters are pretty good though, they're basically economical X-wings with concussion missiles.

Tie Avenger, all the way. There may be better ships out there, but I have wonderful memories of flying the Avenger in the old X-wing games, and to me almost nothing compares.

For capital ships... No idea really. Victory-class Star Destroyers were nice, and certainly the Imperial-class outdoes them.

I really prefer the VSD MK 1 to most ships very multi role

Hm, interesting. I really need to replace that hideous, six-firing-bone model then.

Is it possible to have Victory II and Imperial II (Imp Star Deuce) as well as the older Mark 1s? Perhaps they could have a slightly darker skin so you can tell them apart? I don't know just how much more powerful the Mark IIs were, but I believe they were more heavily armoured and had more powerful guns. I could be wrong, but I don't think the Vic IIs had hanger bays. Also, you can tell them apart by the sticky-out-bits at the top of the command tower/bridge:

IMP STAR DEUCE

I'm no expert so don't take my word for any of this, I may well be confused! :p

Yeah, they will be included as part of the normal upgrades, just with a unique model, like the TIE Advanced x1/Avenger. The differences between the Imperial I and II are easier to spot than the Victory (which have no outward canonical distinction, at least as of yet): higher, x-shaped sensor array above the command tower on the I which is flattened in the II; ridges on the back of the command tower support structure on the II; triple engine baffles on the I and ring baffles on the II; removal of heavy quad turbolasers on the II; and reversal of shuttle bay position between the I and the II. But which is your favorite :p?

Pretty good choice... but it'll be nothing compared to the Imperial X (whenever I finish upgrades) ;).

Of course the Imperial X would own, being the best version of one of the better warship lines.

I wonder how long it would have taken the Empire to develop up to Mark X canonically (if they hadnt been defeated by the Rebel Alliance).

Well, the II took about 19 years, but they were really working their war machine after Yavin, so it would be the same deal with the Death Star construction time. If you view Emancipator as a III, that was about 5 more years (kind of ambiguous). Then you have more ambiguity in ships like Dominator, EX-F, and Mon Mothma...

But if you look at the Imperials, their research style tends to be toward new ship classes rather than improvements (although there are some indications that TIEs were receiving upgrades even if they didn't necessarily get new designations), while the Alliance tends to make improvements. If you look at a ship like the X-wing, I didn't have to make up a single upgrade for that; their stats are all pretty much my interpretation of what systems were upgraded canonically. And of course I downgraded the Y-wing to start its tree at BTL-A1, so the ships in ANH would have been three upgrades in. Z-95s were seven in. Contrast that to TIE Fighters (ignoring the potential lack of designations for now), which were one in. But then you have ships like the XM Nova Wing showing up pretty much around the time of the B-wing. So it's a trade-off.

Though I haven't played the mod, and I'm not to clear on my Star Wars. This ship has got to be my favorite.... for unknown reasons. O_o

In my oppinion for the empire i would have to say the Venator for the simple reason that it's stronger than all of the ships in the classes below like the crusiers but faster than the ISD without giving up too much shielding, hull and weapons so its basicly in my oppinon an all purpose ship weather u need to defend or break through an enemy's lines.

For the rebels i would probably say the Republic Star Destroyer because its another all purpose ship i would say the rebel dreadnought but that ship cannonicly speeking is the MC-80 which was a capital ship insted of a dreadnought so therefore compaired to the emperial dreadnoughts it gets owned which the rebal drednoughts should actually be in my opinion the MC-102 Star Defender or the Mediator class which was also made by Mon Cal but thats just my opinion keep up the good work i look forward the the release

Home One was 3800 meters. Tyderium would not have fit in the hangar had it been 1200 (I did the scale comparisons myself independently of Saxton's, despite coming to the same conclusion).

A lot of sources contradict each other in my opinion.
In the book Solo Command, a Mon Cal cruiser had the Iron Fist (SSD) on the run. Which just doesn't make sense at all. O_o
