I just had a look out of curiosity, according to the IRM (royal weather observatory) it seems that since 1982, we've had an average of 3 or 4 "damaging tornadoes" per year here in Belgium (tornadoes that damages private property and such)

well I'll be damned...

work is sacred...so don't go near it.

Rawlo, you talking about tropical cyclone no-bananas? I don't eat bananas anyway! Mwah-wha-haw! And I live near Melbourne, so only have to worry about earthquakes.
I'm not actually sure why the heck we do get earthquakes here, but it somehow happens.

But yes, America isn't actually a different planet with its own unique set of climate rules, so meteorlogical phenomina do actually happen elsewhere, just as the global warming, etc. that affects the rest of the world does actually effect America too :p

Bah! Stupid banana eating cyclone! :p They became so expensive, you could almost use bananas instead of money! :D Almost that is, some shop owners didn't understand how valuable bananas really were :p

As for the cyclones, maybe this picture can sum it up:

:p Perhaps only Australians will get the joke

Realism is so overrated it isn't even funny. You already know what happens in reality, how is that entertaining...?

A massive tornado just blasted the US, 2.5 km wide, 320 km per hour winds and it traveled 35 km. It wiped 90% of one town right off the map.

A board traveling at this speed can fly right through steel reinforced concrete like butter.

I guess my point is, do these scale tornadoes happen anywhere else but the US.

I'm talking huge ones like this

And this one didn't even touch down yet fully.

A collection of photos and comments by s storm chaser viewing a huge tornado.

Some more for your enjoyment.

This is a great find. You have to scroll down to see the photos of the tornados, but at least you get to scroll through great images of massive lightning.

Some of the are noted as digital composites. So keep that in mind. Foot noted for clarity.

Supersized storms aren't unique to the US, but they are particually common there, and all around the Mexican gulf. Hurricane Stan, for example, destroyed a village I spent Christmas in a few years back, near Panahatchel (can't remember spelling), on the shores of lago de Atitlán, in Guatemala. Now its mud. It was more costly in terms of lives than Katrina, but went largely unreported because the lives weren't American.
I'm not sure how the big Aussie ones compare in terms of actual size, as they do less damage overall because theres more space with less in it here.

I'm not talking anything but tornados. Everyone seems to distract from the main topic. Tornados.

I know what hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, and sand storms are.

I'm strictly talking tornados here.
