Well, I've fixed the installer, so if you download it again, it should work.
Anyway, read this before installing:

1. Run l4e.exe.
2. When it's installed, create a new shortcut of the BFME 2 game.
3. Press with the right button on this shortcut and then click on "properties".
4. At the end of the "target" field write this: -mod l4e.big. That's how it has to look(more or less):

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-Earth II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod l4e.big

5. Use the shortcut.

-If the mod doesn't work and it executes the normal game, try it:

1. Run l4e.exe.
2. Change the installation path wherever you want.
3. Copy the extracted file (l4e.big) in My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files.
4. You'll find this folder in this path:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files

If you don't see Application Data, go to Tools and Folder Options, then, in the second flap,
mark "Show all hidden folders and files"

5. Make the shortcut just like I said before.

-If the game shows an error when you open it, or you can't see the models, please, before installing anything update it.

Sorry, im pretty computer illiterate, how do you make a new shortcut of the game? and where's the destiny field in the properties? this doesn't sufficiently explain how to install it, couldn't you just make a mod that goes directly to the path needed?

Right Click the BFME II icon and select "Create Shortcut". Right click the shortcut that appears, rename it, then in the "Target" add in the -mod l4e.big

Yeah it's target not destiny. In spanish says "Destino" and the most common translation should be destiny xD.

I included an installer the last time I uploaded it. You just have to open the .exe file. I think that the path is correct now, you shouldn't have problems if you have the english version of Windows. If you don't, install the mod anywhere and copy the .big file to My battle for middle earth files.

No, because the mod uses the -mod command, so the game files aren't touched. Install the patch and the mod will run fine.

If it goes to normal BFME II, the most likely answers are that you are either clicking the wrong icon, or you have installed it to the wrong place.

Most likely wrong place, this is because there's a typo in the target field. Change the '2' in 'BFME 2' to a 'II' as in 'BFME II' which will correct the file paths.

Im trying to download this Mod.
I have installed it and have run 14e.exe . It Created 14e.big in: Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files. I created a shortcut and in the target area it says: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod l4e.big . The shortcut just runs the normal game every time i click it.I have redownloaded the Game and mod and do not know how to fix it.

If you understand what i have done wrong or mistyped Please post my mistake. I am trying to
download the mod on BFME 2 with all current patches in english 1.01- 1.06
Thanks ;) [/font]

Hey, I'm having the same problem as Kharma, I have the target as the same that you have, but it still will go to unmodded BFMEII. I also made sure it was in My BFMEII Files.
