Since this is a modding site. I hope you guys can help.

ok I have Gimp not photoshop.

How do I load images there, and where do I get them?

For example EA's orc pit.

:blink: File -> Open ...

But first you'll have to extract them from the Textures.big file using FinalBig. Looks like you should read the tutorials on skinning and the basic modelling ones if you don't know how to apply it or map it.

It would help if someone did a step by step for me.

1. extract the textures using FinalBig
2. open GIMP
3. File > Open
4. edit your texture
5. File > Save.

that's for texture editing. Modelling is rather complicated, but if you follow the tutorials on the site, you should perform alright.

all the textures are in textures.big. You'll need to find it yourself though.

Have you tried looking in the menu's? There aren't that many options. You have to Extract it to your hard-drive. From there you can open the file in GIMP.

To skin:
1.Open textures.big (1,2,3,etc) Extract all contents.
2.Convert the .dds to .tga with dds converter or such... This is if gimp doesnt allow dds support as i cant remember.
3.Open gimpshop and click File > Open > Locate the texture and open it.
4.Edit the texture to your likeing.
5.Save the texture.

To model:
1.Open W3D.big and extract all contents.
2.Open renx.
3.Click the keys you assigned w3d importer to.
4.Locate a model and click open.

Open the model of the orc pit, Open the tower model you want.. Place them together.
Open the texture of the orc pit and reskin it to be icy.. Save it and apply it to the model...

Kind of hard to expand it anymore.. I dislike explaining how to skin over forums :)
