Personally, I use this thing called "Media Player Classic." I'm not sure where I got it, when I got it, Who from, Why, How, And when I associated my MP3's with it. In any case, I like it, so I uninstalled WMP. The new WMP as well as IE7 and the latest Firefox seem to have a giant memory leak on my computer. WTF? Anyway, the thing uses like 1 or less MB ram, better than WMP's 300 Megs after an hour or so...
What you all use?

for my video needs, I use VLC. It has all I want it really
for music, I use WMP11. On XP I used Winamp but I've not really made the switch on my laptop seeing that WMP11 has all I need

WMP11. It is big and chunky, but don't notice that at all on this comp, only the 128mb RAM oldie, so thats not an issue.
It does annoy me theres no play-all without setting up an autoplaylist or selecting all yourself, and that theres no iTunesesque party shuffle (i.e; playing your libary on random, but giving you a list of upcoming songs so you can kill those you don't want, etc.), but I couldn't live without the live search, syncronisation, and love the media sharing functionality.

Slight change on that sync note...
Discovered iTunes Agent, little app to "synchronize your non-iPod MP3 player, your Playstation Portable and your Walkman phone with your iTunes Library"
Doesn't work with WM devices though, so I'm still stuck with trusty Explorer and WMP

I use iTunes for audio, originally simply because I like to be able to flick through all my album covers like that. It's a great program as far as I'm concerned.
And yeah, VLC for pretty much all video.

MediaPlayer Classic and VLC for videos, depending on the codec so it plays best. Winamp for music.

WMP 11 for Music/clips.
Winamp got really slow on my end so I stopped using it.
VLC for DVD-related stuff.
