Depends entirely how you want to do it... be a bit more specific, then we might be able to help you. Most mods use special bases with new building plots which build new buildings which then produce new units. But that's only one way of doing it...

I thought I just explained that? :p
Anyway, make a new building foundation, new buildings, new units. Then set the comandset of the new foundation so it can only build the new minifaction buildings. Edit the commandsets of the buildings that they can produce your new units. Make a new base where you place those minifaction building foundations. Now comes the question how you want to implement that. Easiest way is to use the minifactin base instead of the old one.
If you don't know how to do these steps, take a look at the tutorials on the site, you can find all the related info there.

Do you mean also using two different buildings? That's totally up to you. You must decide yourself what buildings and units your minifaction should use.

Read the tutorials on the main site and make sure you can mod well enough, as the project of adding minifactions isn't really the smallest.

the concept of MiniFactions is still very shady. The original concept was launched by Dain from the RA mod, and some mods adapted the concept to their own ideas.

So picture the way you want minifactions (built from plot? summoned ?), and then base yourself on what's ingame :)

building off of what ched said, minifactions are simply units/heroes/buildings/etc that don't fully fit into a faction so we make them harder to get, either by summon, specific building, or specific plots... typically they add onto a faction's strength or address it's weakness. It's not a specific thing that you edit, rather it is a different way of getting/building units.

But for the MiniFaction style building which I'm guessing RA is using it's the same process as building a new camp except your using a new plot object.

I'll give a quick run through first up you create the MiniFaction I recommend just copy pasting the CastleFlag object and paste it into a new object.ini (i'll call it mini.ini) i recommend using a new ini so you don't have to search through the insanely large civbuildings.ini.
Change the name to MiniFlag (or whatever you want to call it)
we'll come back to it later.Next we make the minifaction building the one you want to build units from for now just copy/paste the GondorBarracks into mini.ini aqnd rename it GondorMini go to the Kindof and add CASTLE_KEEP this will allow the building to exist without a Keep as it is now a Citadel.

Next step involves Worldbuilder create a new map and place the BaseCenterGeneric , naming it BASE and ticking the isabase box.
next place the GondorMini building.and save the map as a Base (bse file) i'll call it mini_gondor,close WB.
now open the base up with the HexEditor and capitalise the name
(for more information on this part check out the create a faction tutorials) now save and close.
Next add the base to Base.big using the naming convention which I believe is bases/mini_gondor/mini_gondor.bse
and save and close.
now go back to mini.ini and head down to the castlebehaviour modules and add your new mini to the list (again refer to the create a faction tutorial ) making sure it is the right case.
now edit the buildings command set and whatever, the MiniFlag commandset shouldn't to be changed just yet, save and return to WB and add your new MiniFlag to a map.
Save exit and test the base should be buildable.

Hmmm...I guess it wasn't such a quick runthrough afterall
I hope this helps I will make a tutorial out of this at a later date.
