I'm used to generals where you just dig below the level of the ground and water appears? how do you get a simple pond to appear?

Do I have to create water areas and all that for just simple pond? I checked the WB guide and didn't find a simple answer.

Unless someone can reference the exact page in the guide that I might have missed.

I am presuming the CnC WB is very similar to BFME WB here, seeing how its made by EA:

You use the Lower Height tool to dig a hole, then use the lake or river tool to create a body of water. You can then edit the appearance of the water.

If you are making lots of ponds, you could just create a huge area of water.

And is there not a default water plain like there is in BFME WB?

Nope, unlike ZH and BFME, there is no default water plane. But other than that, making a pond is exactly the same. Just dig a hole, then make a water area around it.
