The only things that keeps alot of people on nerves end, is the imfamous Executive Order. This clause seems to allow more power to the President than I feel comfortable with. But knowing the balance of power in the US, martial law can't be easily declared. Who would enforce it?

The US army wouldn't, nor the FBI.

You'd be surprised.

These protectons don't seem to be in place in Venezuela. It appears they use the army to backup the police. In the US we use the National Guard. It's the army of the individual state.

Still a military force, though, isn't it?

Because the US army is not allowed to operate in the US.

That explains a lot. :p :)

People, it's confirmed, at least one of them, a 24 year old woman was killed inside her car, aparently by a member of the police force. Showing just how corrupted the police forces are in Venezuela.

On other news, there's a massive movement of students of all cities going to Caracas, sources indicate that there's a 5 kilometer line just to enter the city, reports say that there's a huge police deployment on the entire city.

This is a video of some followers of chavez shooting people around them (recorded on 28th May): just watch

What? Chavez is not a fascist, dude. He's praised by Communists.

Leftist dictator = fascist with a different title.

Let me explain that last part further for your clearer understanding. What I mean is the US army has no authority over civilians in the US. They have no civil authority. You can walk up to an army officer on the street and call him a dick. You might get a punch in the face but you can't be arrested.

The lowest FBI agent has more authority than the highest US general. Hell even a local policeman does. As soon as US troops leave thier base, they're civilians. And I think that's a really good thing.

Unless they're members of the National Guard. Which may as well be an army. To be fair, it wouldn't be all that difficult for a state to declare its independence in that case, and back it up with NG force.

Of course, why would people join the regular Army if they could join the National Guard? They'd know then they couldn't be sent to moronic deathtrap zones...

If nothing else, though, this talk about the US is COMPLETELY irrelevant to the situation in Venezuela and I must question why you even brought it up except for the reason of saying ZOMG THE US IS BETOR THAN J00!

IIRC, a bunch of states tried that in the 1800s and it didn't work very well.

You are redefining illogical anti Americanism everyday. It blows my mind that you are able to find something wrong with every facet of anything American.
