The Hama model is a bit obese, so that wouldn't look right :p
I will add Hama as Captain of the Royal Guard with Leadership to all Royal Guard units...

Next question: Does anyone recall if the Royal Guard was ever seen with bows in the movies? I know the Rohirrim was, but what about the Royal Guard? Did they use bows too? =)

Swords and spears only in the movie, but for the mod, bows would be fine with me.

Yeah, that's what I had too... but I wanted to make sure. Anyway, the foot model swaps between sword and bow and it feels a bit of a waste to remove the bows :p

I remember when i played the elven alliance mod for bfme 1(where foot soldiers still were useful^^ ) i loved playing rohan because of those royal guards.

I had about 3 units of them and a map with a small way to my fortress and when the enemy came i let them shoot them down first and then take out the rest with their sword. It was great :p

I love those Royal Guards! And they definately should have bow and arrow. :p

Yeah, they're awesome even though you don't recognize them as bowmen from the movies... And now that I've started to polish the balance for them, they're even more awesome :p Feels like a great honour to be able to have these guys in SEE, from such a prominent mod as Elven Alliance =)

Rohan has really grown lately in SEE :p

Yeah :p but am I the only one though that think it's pretty odd how they almost scrapped them from the movie? (Easterlings). They show up in front of the Black Gate, but in RotWK you only see them a a fragement of a second when rusing into MT =s

Wasn't Easterlings more "important" in the books?

yeah, I think they were more important in the books.. But I think the haradrim was more important to focus on in the movies, with mumaks and all :p Cause when Gandalf talks to Pippin about Sauron having men, we only see Haradrims and Corsairs of Umbar :p

Besides, the Haradrim had the largest army of men in Middle-Earth, so it's not really that big a surprise :p (At least I think they had it..)

edit: ah yes...

Among Sauron's forces were about 18,000 Haradrim and many Mumakil. When the Rohirrim charged onto the battlefield, the chieftain of the Haradrim rode to confront them, but he was slain by King Theoden.

That's not really shown in the movies... We just see the many mumaks there ;)

Unless the "cheiftan" is the Mahûd on the Mûmak and Theoden is replaced by Eomer? =)

That looks more like paint though :p
You see I'm thinking of giving tatoos to the Dwarven Miners bare arms, for some of them... Might look cool

Nereabout as I can tell Tolkein never said anything for or against Tatoos... if any fan's complain you can always just say that its paint on the Miners arms :p:rolleyes:

The closest I can think of is the red paint seen on the faces of the Men of Harad...other than that not much.

Though, in the films, both the Corsairs of Umbar and the Mahud of Far Harad (as shown above) plainly have tattooing on their body.

No tatoos please. there was no such thing as tatoos in the Middle Ages, which LOTR is closest to in terms of civilization. any such "tatoos" were paint.

There were tatoos during the middle ages

Pirates, men from the east, africa... many cultures and groups had tatoos

Does look like paint, not sure if they remained marked like that or not. They painted their oliphants too, for war.
Didnt even Peter Jackson in his cameo have some markings on his forehead on the ship? Thought so. But this is a grey area where Tolkein may not have specified and Jackson took liberty with it for the movie. Can't hurt to tat the dwarves, it might look cool. I'd be for a nice tramp stamp on Arwen, too  Ok, maybe not on Arwen. But the dwarves would look like tough lil dudes with tattooed forearms :p
