£9.99 in UK.

Highly complex, can be a bit slow paced but engaging once you get into the whole gameplay of it. It also has a fantastic soundtrack which perfectly suits the atmosphere of WWII

This is a highly indepth strategy game, with chess board style fighting dynamics so in terms of graphic vroom don't expect shocking detail (although the intro movie is sweet) and using up to 175 playable countries, 12,500 real historical military and politcal leaders and 350 technologies to research.

There is also two expansion packs

http://en.wikipedia...._II:_Armageddon

Offering alternate, expanded timelines and a variety of other tactical options.

I only got the original but I might consider the expansion packs :thumbsupsmiley:

I've tried it, and i can also recommend Europa Universalis 3, from the same developer. It is easier ffor new players, and is set in the timescale of the 1400s to the end of the 1700s. You can play any country in the world, and its graphic system is slightly updated.

I can certify that AG is not crazy here. This is probably the best grand strategy game I've ever played. Mods make it even more realistic, introducing more elements and events, and patches are still continuously coming out. It's truly excellent.

Its also possible for up to 32 players to play online/LAN which you play against each other or use the share control over one country.

The expansion packs with alternative history super nations are tailored more for the multiplayer aspect but the team continues to patch and provide support for this game and importantly ai improvements too

Currently playing as Italy =p

Credit to Andreas Waldetoft for his mp3 music, who is also working on a pc version of Risk which Paradox Interactive will be working on.

Started "The Road to War" as Soviet Union.

The gameplay's great, each mission is very detailed and well-designed, as much as the game allows. Nothing ends in a clear-cut manner, as there are little things that play bigger into the gameplay than you'd want or think.

The soundtrack is perfect for the environment, it's calm and mellow, but has the WWII-era sound.

I use about 2gb of WWII sounds and speeches in the public domain (And out of it, but don't tell the RIAA, they might want to enforce Ella Fitzgerald's copyright) to play the game. Far better than the stock stuff.
We should all organize an MP game.

Well since had time, decided to install Doomsday and Armageddon as well.

I actually worked out some of the complexities of this game and it seems to have paid off.

Second thread revival.

Played the game,an really beautifull gaming experience(for an strategy game)

A lot of mods,if you google it,and its pretty much fun, playing with your own country, and rising an empire.

I play Doomsday:Armageddon with Romania(where i come),and its pretty much fun,anexing countries,capturing scientists,and creating alliances.

(holy crap, stole some territories from the Sovs.,captured Czechoslovakia,Hungary,Yugoslavia,Alabania,Greece,Poland and got Istanbul, not to mention Austria and the Swiss as puppet states.)
