mm, nice nice album. THE progressive rock/metal band of this planet makes a much heavier album than their last Octavarium. where Octavarium was more an album focusing on the shock of 9/11, this album focuses on the brainwashing tactics politicians and religions uses to make us to their bidding.

They also seem to have taken inspiration from a few other bands this time. the intro song, "In the presence of enemies pt1", really sounds Iron Maiden-like, and the song "prophets of War" is so Muse that one might wonder if they've just asked them to come over and help out with the song.

to sum it up, if Octavarium was a little too happy compared to the normal style that Dream Theater does, they've balanced the scales again with this heavier album.

beowulf: hehehehehehe, that depends on your perspective i guess. songs like "the answer lies within" made that album alot lighter than what they've made before. maybe not really happy as in a dancing-bunny-kinda way but more at peace and acceptance with the way life is. this album is alot heavier and doesn't really have any songs in that caliber.

Hostile: true, their first Mike Portnoy album is the one that has gone down in history as their most popular, but they've certainly still got alot to contribute with through their music. if one like dream theater theres no reason not to buy this album :p

I bought this album a few days ago; I LOVE IT.

I have to say In the Presence of Enemies pt1 is my favorite song.
