I was wondering whether its possible that reinforcement can arrive by train in mission campaigns?

For example when the objective of the mission is to capture a railraod station occupied by enemy so that reinforcement can arrive by train............Is it possible????? :blink:

Is this logic possible?

Will you able to see the tanks and infantry in the train where they moving out of the train.....what i meant is if the tanks are out of the train can u see that the train cart is empty :thumbsupsmiley:

Yes u can by having different voxel of the train cart. BUT don`t know how to replace the first cart with the second one.

Well how about this:

You have a map that has it's edge covered in train tracks, and some leading in on the map. Several places of the track have a nearby Train Station, which is a capturable Tech Building. When the tech building is captured, it gives you a Paradrop SW. Except that the Paradrop Plane uses the land locomotor, and looks like a train. It has MovementRestrictedTo=railroad, forcing it to use the tracks. When somebody fires the SW on the track, the "plane" moves along the railroads to it's destination. Once it reaches that destination, it stops and releases all the troops it was loaded with, and leaves using the tracks.

Of cource, people have to be smart enough to click the tracks and not some random place on the map, else the train may never leave the map. There may also be issues concerning the plane not leaving the map, can't remember what happened when I tried the normal locomotor.

Never tested with railroad, but I know that Car Reinforcements works.

MovementRestrictedTo on aircraft only affects their landing, not their crossing abilities.

that would be nice.. well cant you make a triger wich places text and says CLICK on the railroad for the train to come.. and if he clicks somewhere else.. then make an trigger wich makes the game end?

well, i meant mission wise... if you need reinforcments to come via a railroad.. force them someway.. that is one way to force them to click there.. or the mision is failed?


[edit] becuase otherwise.. youll ahe some trains here and there in the mabye.. that is kinda annyoing if you play a mission like that:P

Ah, but in missions you can script where the Trains go.

Another alternative, since Mig is remaking all the maps is to add a dummy SW that does nothing, but triggers a map script that sends a train with reinforcements to you nearest Train Station.

@MigEater: Are there any specific tanks that a train reinforcement can deliver OR all tanks can be deliverd by the train??

Well, i think MigEater already figured it out.....maybe he used the same logic in RA2 missions where when u capture something a clock will start, and when the clock ends the train reinforement will arrive and the clock will start again and again and again until u have LOTS of tanks :grin: .................... :)

maybe when the train passes over the bridge,blowing the bridge to stop the enemy reinforcements?

To make way for new bridge types, bridges are indestructible...yes, sad but true.

Same with freaking Gen:ZH, indestructible bridges, indestructible train bridges, hell, even indestructible trains. So indestructible that a Nuke, Particle Cannon and Scud Storm strikes it all at the same time won't even scratch the damn indestructible thingies.

I know a way to blow it up though,train accident! a train filled with explosives hitting the other one which transports oil,as the other railroads were disabled by the germans and only the one over the bridge was avaible to travel over
