What about moving Elladan/Elhorir to be inn heroes with the alliance system and adding Gil-Galad or Gildor Inglorien (i personally prefer Gil-Galad :crazed: )

Gil-Galad
Price: 5000
Health:3500 (Like Elrond i think)
Melee late game hero with spear and shield.
Powers:
-lvl 1:Farsight(i think i spelled right)
-lvl 4:Elven King
Gives leadership to all elven units since he was the last elven king
-lvl 7:Power of Vilya
Like Tornado but with reduced damage
-lvl 8:Power of Narya
A powerfull fireblast/fireball
-lvl 10: Last Alliance
Summons 1 battalion of numenor swordsman, 1 battalion of numenor archers and battalion of noldor warriors

Gildor
Price: 2500
Health: 1500
Ranged stealth-based scout hero with bow
Powers:
-lvl 1: Move Unseen
Like Thranduil's one
-lvl 3:Leadership
gives 50% damage and 50%bonus armor to all near stealthed units
Can't think on any other
Thank you Ithron for the avatar

elladan and elrohir are supposed to be inn heroes, rob moved them to elves to show off their skins :crazed: gil gilad would go to arnor if anywhere, either gildor and glorfindel will either be in elves/arnor only.

If you play at a BFME1 Revisted map against random, and they become elves, you can see the trees from their fortress. Should anything be done with that?

i think the core of the issue is that when you're playing as or against random, its kind of a give away of who you are.

o, i stand corrected then. ok, heres a question; if you dont want to see what faction it is, then why dont you try not looking over at the enemy base until this is fixed (if at all)?

I think the RJ mod 1.05,06 created by RJ is fantastic, its a far improvement to the stock standard ROTWK version.

I like the detail put into every little thing, from the buttons that you select Elronds son's from, to the detailed design of the fortresses on the RJ Old Brownlands map, Perfect :p

One thing that i reckon could help improve this version of the mod, which was avalible in the 1.04 version was to re-include the elven warrior units from BFME1- as a buildable advanced unit in the eleven barracks for the elven race (not for Arnor or Rohan).

The only other thing that i could think that would improve the game (not the mod) is if the custom hero's had more choice in armor and weapons. Now people who read this will think i'm hooked on the elven warriors from BFME1, but their armor looks really cool and everytime you see it on the game during a battle it feels like the movie all over again.

So if that armor became avalible for placing on the custom elven hero i reckon it would easly keep me hooked on playing for many more hours.

Go the Elves
I would differently say that your mod is the best i've used to date, thanks RJ :)

First of all thanks for the praise :)

As for the elven warriors, they're probably going to stay with Rohan, because they fit Rohan's faction perfectly and would have to be replaced with some other unit if they were removed. The elves pretty much have all the units they need, but there's a bunch of extras going to the inn, and rohan's elves might make an appearance there, too. If custom heroes are worked on at all, it will be after everything else is done, because it's not really a priority for most people. Unfortunatly, only 8 factions can have CaH in rotwk, so two factions will not be able to have them. At the moment this is Rohan and Men of the East, but that will probably change later on to Angmar and Arnor. Rob will make some generic CaHs for them though, if you're playing CaH at least you won't be completely without help :p

I, personally, don't see why Rohan always needs to have Elven warriors/archers. I mean, in the movies (and in some versions in the books) the elves come as reinforcements for Helm's Deep. For the campaign, you could just have an inn and hire some elven archers + Haldir or whatever. The Rohan faction is mostly based on horsemen and I think that adding in better elven archers for them (except for the Inn options) would just be useless. Especially if you give Rohan, Rohirrim (sp?) Archers on horseback. -That's just my little rant on Rohan though. I haven't played this mod yet, so I could be wrong. I just don't see better ground-archers getting used to their full potential.

Back on topic:

-One thing that I was highly disappointed with, in the elves faction, was Glorfindel. I liked his character model, but I despised Glorfindel's uselessness and his voice in the game. Assuming that this mod (and EA Games) made/makes Glorfindel of Rivendell the same as Glorfindel of Gondolin, he needs to be more powerful to live up to his name. For this purpose only, I'm going to talk about Glorfindel of Rivendell like he's the same person as Glorfindel of Gondolin. For those who aren't familiar with this controversy; Basically Tolkien didn't exactly make it clear that these two Glorfindels were different people. Therefore LOTR fanatics argue whether or not these Glorfindels are two different people. In this suggestion, I'm gonna say that these two Glorfindels are one Glorfindel - Hope that didn't confuse the Sh*t out of you guys.

Anyways, Glorfindel needs to be more powerful. I believe that his powers are okay.... (I mean, he should get a better offensive power instead of the Starlight power - but that's just a personal opinion). He needs more hitpoints and more defence. Glorfindel and his army basically scared the crap out of the WK in Fornost and he fought off a Balrog in Gondolin. Therefore, he needs to get a boost in defence and hitpoints (I believe that his attack is okay though...But I haven't played with him in a while, so I could be wrong). As of now, in ROTWK, Legolas could take him and that's pretty sad because Legolas never took out a Balrog or drove the WK out of Arnor. Not only that but he gets owned with pikes even when you give him his armour-boosting power. Glorfindel should be a force to be reckoned with, on the field of battle.

I know. But I remember that once the Rohan player got their horsemen, the Elven Archers were kind of scrapped or sent just to pressure their enemy-players.
The elven archers in BFME1 were not used to their full-potential even though, they were pretty decent archers.

Why don't you rename the other elven thread like "Screenshot updates of good factions" or something like that? Because I could easily see that thread become a thread where people can give you feedback on character models/building models...... You could do the same for the Evil Factions as well, if you wish.

Now onto naive questions: Um, what exactly is going on with the elves? I have heard from several different places on this forum that they're having subfactions (only different from MOTE)... Also, what's going on with Elrond's sons? I also heard that they were going to be switched as Inn heroes?

That about sums it up. Each sub-faction will be slightly different, thinking Mirkwood will be stronger in attack/speed/stealth, Rivendell stronger in Defense, & Lorien the middle of the road.

How it will work will be close to as follows:

- At the beginning of the game similar to MotE you will select the sub-faction you want to use for the game (Lorien, Rivendell, Mirkwood).
- At this point you will be able to build any of the buildings for this sub-faction and you will get your chosen fortress
- At a point in the game you will send up the signal calling for aid from one of the two other subs. After a period of time they will come to your aid. (The call for help and the signal I'm planning right now to be a part of your fortress, similar to an expansion). This would be a free call, and some time after the first arrives you can call for the 2nd.
- Once the "help has arrived", you will then be able to buy that sub's unit from your structures. I'm debating the apprach and have a couple of ways I'm thinking of doing this:
--1) The levels of the buildings would be extended - so level 4 you can buy level 1 reinforced units, level 5 you can buy level 2...etc.
--2) The barracks/stables etc. might be one building. Once you build the generic barracks, then instead of only level 1, 2, 3 there are also other expansions (pasture/archery range/etc. that can than specialize the building for cavalry/archers/pikes/etc. You would only be able to specialize the building in one area so you can't build archers, swordsmen, & cavalry all from the same building. Then as part of the upgrades/expansions you would be able to purchase dormitories for visiting sub-factions. Thus once the dormitory is built and the other sub is called in the units would be able to be built.

That's kinda the idea. It's different from the other factions slightly as you would always only get one set of buildings to purchase, the alliance is free and there is no cost difference in units/structures/etc. Lastly, you would build the other factions units from your own existing buildings instead of the other subs buildings.

Now for the twins, yes I am planning on putting them in a combo unit (both twins together) that you purchase from an inn alliance. I have them now currently in the elven faction just to show off their new skins and have them available until I finish the alliances. Also, they will be part of Gondor's 25pp power Grey Company (to replace earthquake).

I really like the "one building with different expansions" idea. I'm just wondering will the building at all change in looks after you've purchased an Alliance (I remember that PDF said they would all have different skins) or would the only way to get the new skins be to start off with the subfaction? Maybe you could add something (like a tree/flet/Rivendell thing) to it so that we know it has that Alliance.

Yay, a Grey Company power. Is Aragorn gonna get moved to it? Will it have Halbarad as well? Legolas and Gimli (since their in Rohan's final power I don't think you should have them)?
