Ah, right.

...and when the Rhun army goes through Khand, they call out the Variag warriors and create a mighty army. :)

I know that MotE is now at a fairly satisfying level of completion, I just wanted to post these sites to give a bit of inspiration. I think they're pretty impressive.

Rhun: http://www.twcenter....ad.php?t=247660

Harad: http://www.twcenter....ad.php?t=180156

Ah, TATW? Quite an impressive mod in many ways. The strategic potential of their engine was greater, and allowed for more customization art-wise... especially when you consider that instead of having five to twenty people per battalion, you usually have a hundred or more.

On the other hand, there are many problems with satisfyingly implementing the heroes of the Lord of the Rings saga in a Total War game. They did a pretty amazing job on Sauron and the Nazgûl, but had to leave out many of the good heroes.

Still, their Evil Men are stunning, in my opinion. True works of art.

I was trying to play Harad, but the game crashes like 5 min after playing the game. It's not the map, and it doesn't happen to Rhun. Just Harad has the problem.

Hmmm... I can't say I've had any bugs like that. I'm not sure what the cause of the problem could be...

Yeah, Harad's got some issues. Some games will be fine, and sometimes I've had 3 crashes in a row. Did you have a mumak pen, or were you building one?

My Harad games didn't crash too frequently, they did a few games after I downloaded the newest beta.

Which maps were you playing on when it crashed?

Agreed. They really are *an indestructible* masterpiece :p . And... uh, no. There are no performance glitches to be found anywhere in this truly-elite mod. Er, I mean... if it were not for the whole "WotR" brokenness (is that even a word? lol) where if Indur loses a battle, he dies. If he dies, he stays in the gameplay (WAAAAAAT?), and clicking on him results in: close game. Window says, "game.dat has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the incovienience". close window = close game. (almost never) Window pops up saying "Tell Microsoft about this problem: Send Error Report or Don't Send". It just results in me looking at this glitch and thinking: *Calling me away, begging the question WHY?*. Other than this glitch, how about you ask me for additional hero ideas for ALL of the factions? INCLUDING this one?

Lines marked in stars are a property of the perfect band (that is, disturbed) and are used for quoting purposes only. :xcahik_: :xcahik_: :xcahik_:

Any questions on what I am willing to give out Next??? :)

One little thing though:

If (some) of the easterlings are from the desert, why are they white skinned?
I mean, if they really are from the desert, shouldn't they be black or at least dark collored?
Something that bugged me ever since I saw the movies... it´s a tad unreal it´s like (Sorry to bring em up again) the Fremen from the dune movies, some white asses in the middle of the desert.... uh uh, no way!

The Easterlings aren't really from a desert in the sense that we say desert, I don't think. They come from pretty far North, probably the same latitude as Hobbiton and Rivendell.

But the Haradrim aren't dark-skinned in the movies because PJ wanted to avoid racial criticism for portraying Black people as evil, and it redirects to an old topic of Tolkien criticism. Whether Tolkien intended them as evil, or tribesfolk who respected the Dark Lord for his awesome power, over the cruel (from their viewpoint) Men of the West and feared the Eldar is unknown so Jackson took no risks.

One little question, where does it say (in the books or where ever) that people form middle earth were caucasian, or easier said: white skinned?

"They were goodly men, grey-eyed and pale-skinned..." ~ Tolkien describing Mablung and Damrod

If they were stereotypical men of the Numenorean race, chances are that the other Gondorians were too.

Still, why didn't PJ make one of the heroes dark skinned?
I mean Gandalf could've been played by Morgan Freeman or Samuel Jackson (I had it with these motherfraking rings in this motherfraking Middle Earth)
Just joking on that last thing, still...

Because I'm pretty sure in the books it says he's and old white guy somewhere. Or, he was made in the image of the men of numenor, I think, and they're white.

Besides, weren't Ghan-buri-ghan and the whatever you call them (can't remember name) dark skinned? They were good guys.
