I still like my idea of a Barrows building for wights and vampires.

Hmm, I think I agree with Hasfusel ;)

By the way, infantry spears sounds great. But how they would be different I don't know.

we have to make it clear to the player was my point. the actual logistics of it are relatively simple i think.

Just don't name them pikemen. Use another name that doesn't imply anti cav. If anything you could call them dories which is the tech term for the type of spear you keep talking about. It used to keep enemy troops at a distance and was held in one hand, typically the right. The best example i can think of is the spartan spears in 300. And Xerxis really did use them in his campaigns :thumbsupsmiley: . And it also gives mike the spear and shield deal :)

Another close combat spear thingies that might work here was the halberd.

It could have both pierce damage from the spear tip and slash damage from the ax.

I like the idea of Angmar having a counter infantry unit. It gives Angmar an interesting edge over the other factions I think.

What about this scheme
Add Slave Master bulding as home for Thrall Masters
Change all Angmar rhudaur units to Gundaband analogs.
From the start Thrall Master can summon only Pikmen and Swordsmen 2nd level Axe throvers and Wolf-Riders and 3 - some battering ram

Hall of the kings men
Level 1
Archers of Carn-Dum same that Arnor has have bigger attack rate but less armour.
Swordsmen of Carn-Dum - same sing with archers
Level 2
Black Numenorians - maybe make them not that bright armor darker
Traitor Pikemen - same as Arnor Tower Guard
Level 3
Black Numenorian Horseman - middle-game cavalary
Dark Dunadein - agains make armor darker
Black Guard - herohorde

Troll and Wolf dan
Level 1
Wolf Pack - live the same
Level 2
Swamp Troll - maybe make them good anti-building unit ?
Level 3
Snow Troll - Weaker than mordor trall but made by the same scheme !(All alone horde)
Snow Giant maybe..........

Fortress
Cloud of Vampires - just likeGoblins has

Rhudaur Tent
Pikemen
Axemen
Hunters

Iron Crown standart
semi to the Evil Men standart
Thats all for now !

I also think this mod needs to implement one of those unofficial patches released. Well from what i remember it added alot of things that made Angmar balanced and it fixed some things. For instance, when the towers or Dark Dunedain got the ice arrow upgrade, their arrows would freeze a unit temporarily. Which in my opinion is really cool. I also noticed that the Black Numenorian attack is extremely slow. He fixed that in this "patch". Same with Snow Trolls attack speed.

Theres a Lord Denethor? =\ Well, I'm not calling you father, you mad old coot. :D

Anyways. I think there should definitely be more of a Dark Numenorian feel to Angmar. As it is now, they've got only a few Dark Numenorian units, and the rangers are the only one of the two that are spectacular.

Give Angmar an elite unit of Dark Numenorians. Not sure what, but they definitely need 'em. Also, like someone put in earlier, the idea of a Dark Numenorian Captain for the Rangers should be considered. Like with the Elves in Arnor. And maybe even a hero - the Dark Numenorians played a huge role in Angmars rolling of Arnor, they should be more of a powerhouse in this game instead of giving all of the props to the stupid trolls. I hate trolls. >.> Tolkien only talked about trolls a few times in the books, in connection with Angmar, really - he went on about how evil the Dark Numenorians were, and how they helped Angmar, for ages.

Hell, three of the Nazgul were Dark Numenorian Lords, the Witch-King included.

Sorcerers aren't canon. Actually, random guys using magic is just about as far from Canon as they can get. Only the Maia, and the Valar (supposedly) and a very few others could use magic. Aside from Elf magic, which is a different kind of magic altogether. So guys throwing spells across the field at each other, like in Harry Potter, isn't for this game. I'm of the opinion that the Sorcerers should be removed completely, because I doubt people ever really use them much. Granted, they're awesome in the right hands, but they're just too much trouble to bother with.

Angmar should focus more on the Dark Numenorians. They should have a Dark Numenorian hero, a Captain for the Rangers, and Dark Numenorian cavalry units. =\ Not so many stupid trolls. More men.

Sorcerers add a unique gameplay element to Angmar, however. Many other aspects of this faction are copies of other evil factions - Orcs, trolls and barbarians are nothing new. So, instead of doing away with Sorcerers altogether, I'd try to identify what the problems with them are and turn them into a unit that is fun and rewarding to use.

Given that RJ has already added similiar sorcerers to the Men of the East, I'd wager it's unlikely they'll be removed, anyway.

I agree on the subject of Black Numenoreans, much could be done to flesh these out a little. I'd propose renaming them 'Corrupted Dunedain' or 'Fallen Dunedain', however, since I think that is what EA meant anyway, and the term 'Black Numenoreans' refers to an entirely different group.

Personally I think a Black Numenorean general-hero and captain-unit would do the trick. The 'Dark Rangers' and the other crap can hit the road for all I care.

Well, the Black Numenorean were Numenoreans who grew tired with Elros Half-Elvens choice years before them to be a mortal man. The Numenoreans (who were descendant of him) grew to desire immortal life to spite the fact that they could live three times the span of a normal mans lif - they wanted to live forever. Like their kindred in the Undying Lands of the West. This seduced many of the Numenorians into darkness, giving up joy and love and happiness in the pursuit of longer life. After the Cataclysm that destroyed Numenor (which was because of Saurons corruption of Ar-Pharazon, seducing him into trying to take the Undying Lands and breaking the Ban of the Valar), a group of Numenoreans who were direct in lineage from Elendil, one of the few survivors of the cataclysm, in Middle-Earth went the way of their forebarers - they too were seduced by Sauron. Eventually Sauron was defeated in the Battle of the Last Alliance, but his Lieutenant, the Witch-king of Angmar, tainted the hearts of large groups of the Dunedain of the North. And thus they became Black Numenoreans. (This is from what I remember, its been a while since I brushed up on the history of Numenor but I'm pretty sure I'm close to the mark.)

Corrupted or Black, its the same thing. But essentially, to avoid confusion to people who don't know quite as much about Numenor and the LotR legendium, I'd personally recommend keeping the name Black Numenoreans. But thats just me and it certainly isn't my choice. :D I'd love to see Angmar and Arnor branch out more - Arnor has the definite potential to be one of my all-time favorite factions, and Angmar a close second, or even a tie.

angmar is going to get an overhaul eventually, likely somewhat along the lines of what mike has posted over in the angmar thread of the development forums.

and it is very unlikely that we will implement the 2.02 unofficial patch (this is the one im assuming youre talking about) because the mod has already made many changes to balance which are quite contrary to those in the unofficial patch. these would only be overwritten by implementing 2.02U.
in the end, we would do a bunch of extra work changing the changes () from 2.02U, just to get roughly what we have now. its not really worth it, and as such, probably wont happen.
