Any plans for the Jedi Knights of the New Order? The other day I had Luke and Obiwon fighting together a bit like Obi and Qui do in EPISODE I, and it got me thinking, just how bloody cool it would be having Jaina, Jacen, Luke, Leia, Tahiri, Lowbacca and all the others standing back to back, taking on hordes of stormtroopers or whatever. We could do a reinactment of that bit in EPISODE II where all the Jedi are together, fighting the droids.

Speaking of which, any plans to impliment the time-line *prior* to the end of EPISODE III?

The original's posters suggestions about turbolasers and other weapons for that matter looking more efficent brought back a memory of reading a post (I think on the Petroglpyh forum, but not sure).

The Post was about a person wanting turbolasers when hit into ships take it out the first time...

Now what I am wondering if you could add that into the game Phoenix, like maybe lowering the fighters armor and shields and also lowering the amount of damage of the regular fighters and bombers lasers and other lasers that aren't turbolasers(this would also make it more accurate since then it would be harder for fighters to destroy and Capital Ship)

Now also I was wondering if you could have ioncannon batteries actually disable ships for awhile after their ships are down since this has been proven to happen in The Thrawn Triology when *small spoiler* dreadnaughts attack a star destroyer and give up on trying to destroy it and then instead send ion cannons to disable it temporarly so that they can make the jump to lightspeed, could you do this. (Maybe I'm also thinking of a different kind of ion weapon they were using, but if you could do that that would be cool, would make the ion cannons and capitol ships and other ships for that matter more worthful)

I also want to say about the person who wanted turbolasers to kill the ship at the first hit was not my idea.

P.S. Phoenix too bad you aren't working on Team-Gizka's restoration project, you would rock at it with this mod that you are doing almost solely, keep up the good work and maybe try to get into Team-Gizka, wonder how fast they would make you the leader of Team-Gizka :)

P.P.S. If I didn't make myself clear please tell me what parts weren't so I can make it clearer about that part in another post.

Lasers already do a fraction of the damage that a turbolaser does and all classes other than fighter and bomber had their hitpoints doubled to compensate for the starfighter bias of the X-wing series from which the values derive.

That was the intention, but I think it must've been too weak or something. I may also have to borrow some code from the big v-150, but I'll take a look at it.

Bah, Team Gizka should try to get into PR :p. Besides they work kind of slow... how long has KotOR been out for? 4 years? And still no release? They get their own Wookieepedia article though ;). But I appreciate the compliment.

If you attack a Capital ship with star fighters, what you'll probably find is that the Capital ship only loses a small fraction of its shields, and the blue shield bar recharges about as fast as the starfighters drain it. But assuming it's a bomber squadron or at least X-Wings, you'll see that the HULL of the Capital ship is slowly reduced by torpedoes (of course, Hull damage does not repair so the bar only moves left) until you end up with a badly damaged Captial ship, about to explode, who's shields are actually intact. Of course, if you escort the Capital with fighters or lancers/dodonnas, it's not a problem!

Yessir, that was the idea. Whenever someone says they don't have the weapons to damage capital ships in their fighter in some book, I took that to mean that they couldn't do enough DPS to cause a net loss to the shields. For capitals, that number is effectively about 179 after factoring in armor/shield class and a regular light laser cannon does 2 DPS. That's about 45 X-wings (1 wing plus 8) needed to keep the shield recharge in check if you figure half of them are always going to be flying away from the ship; double for something with only two cannons.

But it's a fine line because, for example, an X-wing's lasers are generally regarded as harmless to capital ships, but an E-wings are not. And, of course, in-universe they also have a finite number of torpedoes :p.

It's definitely within my timeline, however, anything prior to RotS I will leave up to other mods ;). BTW, great picture with the squirrels, classic.

I don't get something in EaW...
I read in several books about particle shields, how they could deflect physical objects.
So I was pretty surprised when I found out torpedoes and missles could damage the hull of a ship with its shields still up.

Yeah. That's how it worked for X-wing and I decided to keep it that way. It may just be game mechanic, or it may just be that most ships don't have particle shields. Who knows.
