I was MotW...

i build like 4 resource buildings too. then i recruit boromir and faramir.. then i was building more resource buildings and a wall on one side... then i build more resource buildings and a archery range and a stable.. and when i was finished by that, i got overrun by 3 nazguls acompanied with 4 companies of orcs and a company of those men from harad with pikes (A)

after that i lost faramir and boromir along with a company of archers wich just finished and from then on, i couldnt hold it any more... i build an eagle but he couldnt do much against the heroes.. only the units :p so afther a while i kinda gave up..

tried building gandalf too but he neither could stand against 3 nazgul and the mouth of sauron.

get your units earlier and build towers.
Towers are really useful to give your units en extra protection.

Armies: Mordor vs. Men
Map: The Grey Havens

In the beginning, I made a whole bunch of slaughter houses, and made one nazgul to capture to capture each one of the outposts and the shipwrights. (Weird, because I only made one Bombardment Ship...) and then I started making unit production buildings...towers, etc. There was this strange moment when a knight battalion ran all the way to the back of my camp just to destroy this one slaughter house. weird. After I've built up my army with Grond and made the nazgul and stuff...I have all my nazgul stand watch in one area so they can get up to level 8 and use fellbeasts. So I had this mega assault on the men's base with Grond, The Nine, and a whole bunch of corsairs, catapults, and orcs. Then I bought the Balrog power so I could destroy their fortress. Seconds later, VICTORIOUS screen appears.

:) I hope this helps, I am no good at explaining.

Easy is boooooring
Brutal is really funny. All tactics I told you are working against brutal.^^
To win against brutal you need quick soldiers or other things to defend your base.
This map is very easy to play.
Just build 2 towers and put archers in them.
There is only one way, so you must defend only this small path and that's very easy.
But it sounded like a nice funmatch :D

It was indeed. And nicely short. 37:52 was how long the match was I think...

Defensive play is a total must, not only do i suggest towers, towers and more towers, statues are an absolute must just to give you an edge. I push my front as far up as i can, set up at least two towers and a statue between them, load them up with archers and perhaps a melee hero by the statue to level up. After a bit, put in a healing structure just behind this front line, get another hero and rotate them: when one is badly injured, pull him back to the healing structure, and rotate the other hero in. Rinse and repeat. The more heroes the better, or at least have some melee units to help the lone hero. The AI usually attacks the nearest structures to them, so this serves to alleviate pressure from attacks directly on your fort. Keep an eagle close by to address attacks from siege.
Aggressively setting up your front line is the best form of defense. It's like fore-checking in hockey. From this single point of defense, then build AROUND it: build troop buildings near here for quicker resupply of troops, build what walls you can to funnel them in towards this "deathtrap", etc.

Of course the other option is to go walls and turtle up, which is fine, but you don't rack up power points or experience as fast.

If you feel you're losing units and heroes too fast to mobs and mobs of enemies, don't forget to also change your stance to defensive. It DOES help, gives units a lot more durability. During there extended survival time, if you can, draw these endangered units back to a well, or an isolated area behind the front so that they can heal.

I was wondering if anyone has found a really effective way to get rid of grond... My crowning achievement in this mod was defeating 3 allied brutal Morias as the Dwarwes, but Grond is always such a pain - If I don't have catapults (which are quite expensive for Dwarves) it's very difficult to take it down. What I mean is, if you are playing against 3 allied Mordors, you have to deal with 3 Gronds...

I love playing as isengard.... In VANILLA BFME2...
My new favorite is Mordor.

I just played an amazing battle with them, my greatest strategy us this:
(Feel free to deviate from this if needed)

Set Up:
Build 3-5 slaughter houses and then train Gothmog.
Build both kinds of orc pits, a haradrim palace, and more slaughter houses
Build 2 easterlings, and upgrade both kinds of pits to level 3
Build a tavern, recruit PJ, then upgrade it to level 2
Research FB and HA, build 2-3 Nazgul, and the black Uruks.
Build a troll cage and siege works and begin upgrading them to level 3

This should take 10-15 minutes

Building an army and defense:

Build walls at key points
Recruit 3-4 Morannon Archers, and research fire arrows
Build the mouth and your create a hero if it is enabled.
Build the Grond, research siege maces, build 5-10 catapults, and 3-4 attack trolls
Save for the rest of the nine
Begin constructing your army ONLY after the Grond is finished.
Begin pumping out Morgul Orcs and upgrade them (use call the horde)
Build a mumakil pen and make 5-12
Build more attack trolls if needed
Double check everything is upgraded with Fire arrows, FB,HA, Siege maces, Bannercarriers, etc.
Wait for the AI to launch an attack on your fortress, to ensure that they have minimal troops at their base.

Concerning rings:

(Optional:)
Make sure you have the ring or Gollum on your side.
Recruit sauron

Offense:

Make sure all lost troops are rebuilt
Move your SOLDIERS just out of range of the enemy's defenses.
Draw defending troops out with Nazgul (on fellbeasts) and kill them.
Move your catapults and Grond in.
Destroy towers with your catapults
Weel the Grond in on defensive stance
Flood the base with ALL your units and protect the Grond.
With the Grond, target (in this order) Fortress, Builders, then unit structures.

This should take anywhere between 1-1 1/2 hours.
Still round that corner may await, A new road or a secret gate.-J.R.R Tolkien
