Yea well basicly Four Ages has 2 buttons, one which zooms to view something like that in the Age of Men screenie and then another one which zooms out to the normal view. And like Sul said, the buttons are at the same place as spellbook buttons. Thats how it basicly works if I remember right.

Exactly, I fell it's a great advantage to see that it really works that well, in not only one but two mods:
- Age of Men
&
- The Four Ages

(what's with all the "Age" and "Alliance" in so many mod names btw ;))

Cool :) I hope they get it working right so that SEE can be even more perfect ;)
And btw about mods with Alliance in their names, there is also another Last Alliance mod (german) but its about 3rd age :D And also Alliances of Arda and I could swear that there was atleast one more ;)
And in defence of my mod, its about Last Alliance so it seemed pretty good name :p Not that anyone said anything about it but still ;)

Yeah aparently there are some difficulties that needs to be solved, but I think we might see some nice skies on at least some of the maps :p

Btw: is your mod finished? Looking for work maybe? ;)

:( Well even if it would be just one map it would be good :p But I think, I THINK, that if I know atleast one bit of how the things work in the SEE team, if it works in one map it aint gonna stop there ;)

Btw: is your mod finished? Looking for work maybe? ;)

:D Nice one :) But I would really love to work for S.E.E. if I have spare time or when I get LA done or atleast it is almost done. But atm LA aint done because it has this one really annoying bug that I need to fix ASAP ;) Or otherwise it might really take awhile :(

Yeah hopefully we'll find a way to solve it, but from what I gather from Rob and Sul it's slightly different from map to map =)

You'd be welcome to join us whenever you like ^ Good luck with the bug solving =)

OOH warcraft moment.

If anybody's played warcraft 3 it had the best zoom feature i ahve ever seen, even for an old RTS. The zoom in thing zoomed to troop view, ratehr than just magnifying. You could issue orders, then watch the chaos. This new view isn't exactly great for strategic maneuvers, but it'll be awesome for watching big battles.

One question though....how is this gonna affect the lag factor?

Thanks =) ANd yes, this can only be done by a really good mapper cause I beleive that the settings are in the maps for this...

Everyone with elementary knowledge of wordbuilder can do the job, the main thing is done via coding. The Four Ages camera system is reused from Epic Minas Tirith, a map for BFME1 by Morgoth. Just be aware that when using this camera settings, the amount of lag rises quite extensively, not to mention that you practicaly lost control over the game... :p

Interesting. The real task is, it seems, making this feature not disrupt gameplay.

It's Wars of Arda, not alliance. Or Valarian mod.
That skybox effect would be stunning, and Company of Heroes has the tilt view. You hold ALT + move mouse and it tilts to however you want it, like looking at riflemen hiding behind a burnt our tank etc. etc.

That's exactly the effect that i would like to achieve! Is CoH a BfMe-Mod or an entirely different game?

Alliances of Arda is a mod hosted here on T3A, they were never referring to Wars of Arda. Company of Heroes is a completely different game, WWII RTS made by THQ.
