This is the 3rd topic you've started for this now.
You're trying to start a mod without ideas?.
Seriously go away think about what you want learn to code, skin etc then post a topic when you can prove that this is worth helping out on.
And writing ideas only will only encourage us to spam you.

If you have ideas you should post them.
Planning is very important for modding before you start modding make a detailed plan of want you want in your mod and stick to it.

Make a unit list,Hero list,Building list,Spell list, upgrade list and a list of anything else you want to add.

I didn't plan Lone Wolf Mod very well and it's taking me twice as long as it should.

Most people use Photoshop to skin I use Paint Shop pro 6.
Those who cna't get either use Gimpshop.

You plan on creating an "Evil Mod," so you say. IMO, that's not near enough specific. If we made a mod of all the evil in Arda from the First Age up we'd have a whole 'nother game.

I would recommend (with my amatuer modding experience) to focus on a certain era and place. After you've done that you can research all you need to for units and heroes and the like.

when i 1st made this mod it only edited evil side then i researched the ini.file for stuff i could try and i learnt more so added the heroes to campaign.
might add 3 giant eagles to black gate as reinforcements for when the nazguls come. want that to be added?

Really, thanks so much for the offer, but I really don't have the time at the present moment. I'm swamped at the moment (partially because of my frequenting here :{ ), but that's very kind of you to offer to do so. :)

NO. You are not to use my shadow of evil mod in your mod.

Secondly, you should have asked first, which you did not do (the pm you sent me does not count since you sent it yesterday and this post I am replying to is dated the 20th.)

Please remove all of my shadows of evil codes and artwork from your mod immediatly and do not release any of my work in a public area.

I can't beleive you said that ^ GuessWho...
Do you realise how offending that is to GtO? :p You're basically stealing his hard work, make a couple of changes and calling it your own? I should stay out of all of these things for my own good - I know -, but that is just plain RUDE and I can't stand it. You do not EVER use someone elses mod to make your own mod and calling it your own. I've had this problem arise with my mod too recently, and it was not funny.

The mod I'm working on is also based on another mod though yes, but I started by writing a carefully written and humble mail to mr Mark Hambly (aka Sniggles) asking for persmission to alter his FullGamePlay mod. He agreed and I kept him posted of the progress as it went along, and one day several months later he told me that he didn't even think he deserved to be in the credits anymore cause all the changes I had made (with his permission) had made the game so different from his, that he was kinda flattered that I still mentioned him. Imagine how flattered I was to hear that! I will always keep him in the credits, cause I will always be greatful for him letting me mod his mod. So that's a win/win for both parties, and that's the way it should be done. But you should ALWAYS ask before you mess with someone elses work. That is THE ground rule of all rules when it comes to modding. Ask, and accept the answer, positive or negative, and above all respect the veterans and the staff. ;)

I'll let you in a a secret... How to succeed as a modder in T3A (IMO):

*rambling start*
1) RULES: Make sure you read and catch up on all the forum rules before you enter as an active member! (Kind of like - don't drive the car before you learn how to, and get a licence!)

2) RESPECT: Show respect to all people you meet in the forums, but especially to Staff and forum veterans! (This is the only way you will get respect back!). I also suggest you follow the advice and tips these people give you, and that you listen carefully to them. And don't "fight back" in case an Admin or Moderator corrects you in some way. Most likely they know what they are doing and they have a reason for doing it ;p And also, but not showing respect, you'll be remember as that respect-less person for a very long time...

3) LOGIC: Start out small! This has been said a MILLION times to all new members, including me when I was new. The difference is, I listened to them. If you start out too big, like 90% of all newcomers do, then you'll soon realise that the project can't be finished, if even started at all. And soon we'll end up having 95 cancelled mods that planned to have 84 factions with 496 heroes... in heach... or something like that. I started by only giving Balrog longer "life span" - that eventually and gradually took me where SEE is today. Ask yourself "What can I do? What is within logic and reason for me to start with without having to recruit 14 team members from scratch? And how much can I learn before I start the actual mod?"

4) SKILLS: Learn how to mod yourself - do as much as you can - and then when you have something to show, you'll attract more qualified people that might be interested in helping you. You will never ever get a crew from just wanting stuff. People are not angels that reside in here just waiting to give help to anyone that askes. They are ordinary every day just people like you. And 9 out of 10 modders have projects of their own that takes a lot of their time. At one point in history I even offered ppl money to mod for me. I was that desperate to get things fixed, lol. But when that didn't work, I had to learn myself, but I was NEVER rude to anyone (as far as I know) and I always showed respect to veteran members and modders. And when I started to REALLY try, I had no problem to learn. T3A offers awesome articles and tutorials and when I got stuck I asked as humby as I could for help and that inspired the veterans to help me I guess. And I was always very happy for the excellent guidance and I made sure I thanked them for it instead of screaming for the next fix in line like a baby bird screaming for maggots. And as the mod grew the more help I got. Eventually I even got a team, that is still growing. Snowball effect... all from how you approach things.

5) SPELLING and language. No respectful modder will ever read posts like: "hello i want make mod can you help mi pliss i want make lartz ang gendelf stong but i not codd veri god can i sent you my module pliss?". This is just an example though and not a quote. I call it "sms-language" and in my country only poorly educated kids write that way and it's quite francly degrating the communication quality across countries these days. I can't even read text like that without getting a head ache. So in regard to #2, please show respect enough to write a correctly written post. Spelling misstakes are fine but that's not even a language. I'm not saying you write like that per sé, but I threw it in there anyways as a tip worty to keep in mind... (This last paragraph does however not apply entirely to people that actually don't know english, but I've seen ppl from USA write that way ^)

Well anyway... I just had to give my opinion.
*rambling off*

Good luck in the future... /Naz
