I have to admit though, the quote in his sig is clever and right on the money.

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”

While yours is nonexistant. Your view is made of the chain by which you blindly follow those who would pretend to be best for you.

i am no big fan of conventional socialism, but it has ideas that are far better for humanity than other ideologies. calling it a failure would be claiming the victory before the game is over.

the creed of ignorance? being ignorant is not something that a specific political ideology has monopoly on. theres plenty of it in all extreme movements.

the gospel of envy? sure, if you are selling sigarettes for a living and indirectly causing great medical bills to the nation and huge numbers of deaths. to see those money being spent on making chemicals to make sigarettes harder to quit instead of on more useful things. things like medical bills and other things that would help society grow. wouldnt those few moments of envy be for the betterment of society as a whole?

why should one let others take your own share of misery? life is not about living in a dreamworld, its about making it a better place for your children.
considering all the misery we've spread around the world for the betterment of our own lives in the easiest way, i would consider a few drops of misery here and there better than a megaton of it in a blink of an eye.

Hear, hear! A voice of reason!

Yes, communism has its fair share of misrepresentations and flaws, but so does every other governmental system. Left-wing is no worse than right. What's important is working out the kinks in whatever system there is. Don't lie to yourselves thinking America's way is the ONLY way and the BEST way. It isn't.

Socialism is just fucking stupid, wtf is a 'sigarette' do you mean cigarette? Ruddy foreigners! Socialism is very ignorant as it glosses over all the facts that in free market situations everyone does better while in nations which have adopted state controlled economies they are poor, underdeveloped, undemocratic and generally shit holes to live in.

Socialists envy everything. Think about it, they hate meritocracy and hard work, they would prefer if the fruits of those that succeed in life are given the criminals, drug addicts, promiscuousers and bandits. The tobacco industry exists as a demand for a free market, I believe in a privatised healthcare system to ensure competition and a better standard of service. Those few moments of envy have led to mass unemployment, high taxation and ruined economies (as seen in Europe during the 1970's).

Misery, come on think about it! Socialists have a very negative view on human nature, in the pursuit of 'equality' they are willing to forget freedom, democracy and choice for the sake of trying to ensure the criminals and drug addicts get a nice house to live in while a hard working middle class family pays more than half of their house hold income to fund their wasters in society.

Your so called 'argument' has proven every point of how socialists are stupids.

Now cover me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians.

Who just posted above using chem ali log in? It reminds me of the movie "Old School" when Will Ferrel is in a political debate with some famous debater and he rattles off all this intelligent stuff and than afterwards nearly collapses and says "I blacked out there"

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”

Philosphy of Failure - it's failed everytime when tried.

Creed of Ignorance - it's mostly poor stupid people lead by opportunistic leaders that use communism as a creed.

Gospel of Envy - these same stupid poor people listen to these communist leaders like a church rally. The are promised prosperity and end on working on the "Animal Farm"

Sharing of Misery - because communism has always lead to misery for all, purging of professional intelligent people like artists and professors, and a huge decline in economic stature.

That is why the quote makes total sense.

It makes much more sense to improve an already "mostly" working capitalist system than to start from scracth and try to develope along another line. It's actually pretty stupid to be honest. It's almost shaming on the human race that there are so many "intelligent" people that believe this is the way we should be doing things.

That's all I have to say about the war in Vietnam ~Forest Gump
(if you've seen the movie, you'll get the analogy)

since you have admitted in other topics that you're just trying to sound controversial i can't be bothered to respond to your entire post. i've got better things to spend my time on. But i think that this sentence really shows your nature.

one thing i want to point out to you and others is that there is a difference on socialism and social politics.
"When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist."-Hèlder Câmara

I have nothing left for Castro nor Chavez's way of ruling and politics because ultimately its more for themselves than the people. old school socialism with revolutions and "temporary" dictatorships is not the way forward. so please try to make a new symbol in your heads that uses "Socialism", that is not directly connected to pictures of Stalin/Castro/Chaves and nukes and James Bond or Rambo kicking arse in the name of capitalism.

old school socialism with revolutions and temporary dictatorships? i agree, but its not what i'm looking for.

sure, poor and stupid people can be a part of it, just look at Chavez. but thats a charismatic leader doing what he's good at. that can happen in capitalist countries aswell. but it would be racism to claim that the poor/stupid will always be poor/stupid no matter the amount of pillows sown under their armpits.

having a revolution with one or few leaders is not optimal and will most of the time go to hell. i'm not a fan of revolution and i believe more in major reforms.
the definition of Social Democracy: "Unlike socialism in the Marxist sense, which aims to replace the capitalist system entirely, social democracy aims to reform capitalism in order to remove its perceived injustices."
and the other one, "conveniently" named democratic socialism: "Democratic socialism is based on the idea that the economy and means of production should be in the hands of ordinary working people, or in older terminology the "working class". Democratic socialism involves the entire population controlling the economy through some type of democratic system."

i'm not a very big fan of the latter as its kinda close to a system where theres no freedom left. but i think that there is a power vacuum today in capitalism that corporations are abusing.

"I give you private information on corporations for free and I'm a villain. Mark Zuckerberg gives your private information to corporations for money and he's 'Man of the Year.'" - Assange

Well of course it isn't the best way... the whole country is screwed up :p.

Though England does have its flaws like chavs... but belive it or not i have met chavs who like metal and that kind of music and are not willing ot beat you up just looking at them and saying hi lol. Goths have kind of created hey're own society but they are more.... sociable than the chavs..
