I finally have a rohan related update for KotW! It's their new infantry unit the "Men of the Westfold".

Background: This model was made by Nertea but has been edited by me. The skin was originally by Nertea as well but almost all of it has been replaced, only the cloth on the arms and legs and the boots are his. All the armor is new (top tunics, scale mail, and leather armor were made from scratch by me ;) the chainmail was a pic), the faces, helmets, and shields are also all new. Lauri gets an assist on the faces and the shields as we both worked on them.

Also this model is lua scripted so that there is variation in the battalions... 14,580 possible variations :p A number that I just found out about

No more talking! Here they are:

Note: These are not the final versions... there are two or three small things I am going to be fixing. But they won't be too noticable.

So, what do you think? :shiftee:

Wow :p That's a lot of variations. I like how you've gotten spears and axes in a single battalion :p

Sort of... the animations work for that but I haven't coded them that way yet. That's one of the little problems I have to fix before they are good to go. I already know what I'm going to do though so it should be easy enough

Great!
I also have some ideas (lua -> Upgrades -> ModelConditions -> AnimationState).
If you hit a dead end, let me know. :p But i guess you won't be needing any help with that. :p

Definately yes :p they are the same as any other unit with just 2 more weapons which won't affect anything

ooh, I hadn't thought of that... I'll try some stuff and see if it is possible... I'll let you know ;)

ur just use the same code as the rohan peasants... then the axe/spear/whatever can have different animations, weapons, armours, whatever the hell you want...

i take it your gonna make sure they hold their weapons properly (so it is in the hand, not hovering next to it) and you may want to look at the rigging on the elbows, i find it normally helps to add some vertices to make it look right when its bent.

love the randomness though, and the skins and models are top notch :)

Actually Sûlherokhh helped me script it so they are all set up. It was all of 3 lines of code :p

Lol, I forgot.. was working on some other models. I'll have to do that now.
