How many fiefdom units will there be?
Am I Belgian or Flemish? Hmm, me thinks I'll just stick to European...

Will they be better than average Gondorians, weaker, or just different? (I get the feeling this is military secret as well...)

I would think that they would be stronger and weaker in different aspects - ie, Axemen of Lossanarch would have more health, Archers of the Ringlo Vale would have better accuracy, etc.
Cheers,

I have a feeling that axemen will have a higher attack strength although they may have a slower attack and probably lower armor (assuming that they wield two handed axes and thus would have no shield). Only just guesses though. Overall, I'm in agreement that the fiefdom units will probably have some different type of advantage than your normal Gondorian units.

Actually, I think they'll be pretty much inferior in almost every way :thumbsupsmiley:. They're not meant to be frontline troops in any sense, just militia.

Really? Aw man. Well couldn't you give them a damage increase? But keep the alledgedly low armour they way it is, and mabye increase speed? To make them a bit more like shock troops

they arent supposed to be shock troops, pretty much militia like Nertea mention. it doesnt matter anyways cause recruting SF units gives you random horde, so you dont know if you will get archers, spearmen or swordmen or any other unit that will be there. their biggest advantage will be price and recruit time i belive.

You should also note that Gondor infantry in general is way stronger than it was it stock BFME, so having militia be weaker still won't put them at orc-level.

I wasn't suggesting that, I was just saying that they weren't as strong as I first expected, at least in the way I thought they could have been. Oh well

They'll be even stronger? I can remember when I sent out 2 battallions of plain soldiers out to die, as I wanted to replace them with tower guards (it was in the campaign). They nearly conquered the Mordor castle...

I think the point of the power is just to bring in extra reinforcements not necessarily troops that are extra powerful or unique.

Won't the Morthond Vale bowmen be better than the usual archers? It said so in the description.
Also, will you be giving spears some range? I mean, will it be possible to have a line of swordsmen, and a line of spearmen behind them, and have them all attack at the same time?

I guess that that not is suppost to be now, cause your sentence doesn't really makes any sense xD.. But I think its like a seriously good idea... combining spearmen and swordsmen would make sense then..

yeah, I asked because I believe I had read something about you guys wanting to make the Gondor spearmen more usable. Well, this could do it.

I'm pretty sure he says "now that is something to think about...good idea imo."

and he's correct... but I'm afraid that the spearmen could've stabbed the swordmen when attacking enemies...
Also, Swordmen could be behind the spearmen... and coming forward to slash when the enemy is in front of the spearmens shield :thumbsupsmiley:

An idea came to me last night for a power that would be very useful for multiplayer, although it came to me when i was thinking about turning a book series into a mod if I had any modding skills (which I do not have time to learn :thumbsupsmiley: ) but anyways for the power: what if a power for a hero allowed you to view enemy heroes power recharge timers when close enough (thus being a passive power). For example, say this was a power for Gandalf (just hypothetically speaking) and he was near say, the enemy's Aragorn, when you clicked on your opponent's Aragorn, you could see how long he has left before being able to reuse his powers, if not already charged up. Is this possible?

I don't think that there's really any UI component available to do that.
