okay this is a reallly REALLY central, big type issue, and always IMMENSELY impacts the gameplay of the game.. personally i absolutely, horrendously despise, choice 3, and 4, and even more so for the option of using only buildplots and i totally agree with Dalf on this one, for me that was the one central component that prevented me from looking at bfme 1 as a real RTS and limited my enjoyment for it :tongevil:

but ne wayz back on the issue, i was personally fine witht the resource system for bfme 2, and it is also okay as it is now, but definitely i woudl oppose being only able to build in a smaller area, w/o any radius system... i say just keep it as it is now (altho i did vote choice 2 at first :battery: ) <-im actually surprised though thtat ther was only one toher person than me that voted choice 2 :ninja:

Arghh !! Rob plz PLZZ made restrictions just a little bit bigger? Cuz it is so frustrating sometimes how you feel poor, and feel like turtling cuz you are poor and have small army, and the only way to win out of this is to build up on money within. But since you can't - as there is only so much room in those little castle walls, you would have to go out and capture buildings! BUT remember you have to guard them with troops, since you can't build anything out of your base - and since you don't have such an army to do such a task because you are too poor - guess what? YOU ARE DOOOOMED!!!! Either that or you can just wait 1 hour till you gather enough resources to build an entire army.... :lol: Any wayz i'll admit I haven't actually been focusing much on the new RB system for Bfme 1 revisited maps until just now, when i was playing angmar. And it seems that at least for angmar you can't even build the RB's just outside of your castle walls! I hope you really know about this, as it is in my view a MAJOR MAJOR issue. I've probably already told you this, but the RB's for all factions when you are about to build them (as in having clicked on the RB icon after selecting the builder, but not specifically having already placed the RB) - does not show the percentage resource production rate, nor the Radius/ring!!

Thus you can only see how much production the RB's have after they've been fully constructed, and same with the radius, which can be a bitch as to your "strategic" RB placing (altho as i mentioned before there already isn't all that much space to build you RB's in)

Well, for the Angmar mills, they should be buildable outside the walls. (They have the 700 build radius of the other RBs.) The reason why the percentage does not show up is because of the building-restriction code that is on it, and it was one of the reasons why I've thought about build anywhere so you can see the radius and percent when placing.

Also, yes you can see the radius before it is completely build, buy you have to have at least one fams. Once you tell the builder where to build the next RB, just click on one of the already build farms and you can see. I sometimes will then adjust and place differently, but the radius' are usually small enought that after playing once or twice I don't really worry about where as I've already got a general idea of the size of the radius.

In the next release I'm doing some MP maps that are purely the build-plot system, which might interest some a little more. In these, I'm attempting to re-create completely the BFME1 style.

Okay thnx rob, but for the Bfme1 revisited maps, do you have any plans to allow the defensive towers and walls to be built any where outside of the castle? (other than the inn, cuz that isn't the only place that you might wanna defend at times)say there is like a choke point (i know there really arent many in bfme 1 or 2 but im just saying of a scenario) that you can utilize against an enemy invasion, and i think you should be able to use those kind of situations to build walls and place towers besides 'em - for some nice defense. I mean I get that farms shouldn't be buildable out ther, but im in love with wall building and tower spamming :p
