Fen, don't encourage him. A 1.4 Civic Sport could probably outrun that fuckin thing. Besides, the size of the engine doesn't directly correlate to the amount of power it produces. Also note that pickups are tuned for torque not speed. Regardless, yes, you probably could eat him alive as that thing must have been haemorrhaging horsepower for years. Assuming it even actually HAS a working engine and not just a badge on the back saying what it used to have (or what the previous owner(s) wanted people to think they'd got)

Well, trucks have are tuned for power rather than outright speed but there's really 2 classes of pickups these days. More and more are being built for power and speed. Hell, they're even turning into family vehicles now with more models coming 4 doors and roomy back seats, at the cost of bed space of course but even still, a 'family' pickup is very versatile.
However, the truck I posted is the 2003 Silverado SS; a truck designed purely with speed in mind but it has the towing capacity of your every day variety. Good god, I could have posted the 4.3L turbo-charged GMC Syclone... that would outrun this shitty V12 and it's only a V6.

Besides, how was I encouraging? You know that he doesn't have a goddamn BMW. He's a stupid chav with no money. I thought we all knew that. :)

Yeah I know, but you saying "My shit's better than your shit" is the most surefire way to encourage a chav. If you have something black, they must have something blacker. Rather like a Yorkshireman.

And I'm 18 thank you very much, I own a old type BMW 7 4.4 Litre V12, I'm doing it up and repairing it before I sell it on.

That's not really what you own, is it, if you have to 'do it up and repair it' before it can be resold or even used.
What you probably own is a wreck, probably with an engine that has only two of the twelve valves working. 'Old type' must be an understatement.
You are not impressing me. You probably don't even have a license, so as I say that's not really 'your car'.

I've been driving for eight months thank you very much and the car works fine, I doubt the engine would even function if only twelve of the valves worked. 7-Series from 1990 onwards have had automatic transmissions put in as a standard, this is to control their engine and because some automatics are faster than a manual.

Now this has a 5 speed automatic with sports mode, allowing you to manually shift up and down gears, ideal for selecting a lower gear on steeper inclines. A 7-Series would easily outrun one of Fens trucks, trucks are built for carrying heavy loads and rough terrain. 7-Series was a designed as a limo with the handling of a sports car.

I drive a 2000 Toyota Solara with a v6 and a dealer installed Toyota Racing Development supercharger with a TRD exhaust and a custom intake.

Might I add it has Lexus fittings. 300HP

I doubt any budget european cars could be compared to any budget american cars in terms of speed and power. Instead, european cars don't suck in a fuckload of fuel. American cars are built to travel long distances, european cars are built to be economic. It's why there is a distinction between european and american cars. I would love to have a powerful american car, except where would I ride in it? Buying it just for city journeys kinda defeats the purpose if you know what I mean.

I am by no means an expert on the subject, but that's pretty much how I see it.

ARGUMENT FROM CREATION, a.k.a. ARGUMENT FROM PERSONAL INCREDULITY (I)
(1) If evolution is false, then creationism is true, and therefore God exists.
(2) Evolution can't be true, since I lack the mental capacity to understand it; moreover, to accept its truth would cause me to be uncomfortable.
(3) Therefore, God exists.

Agreed; however, not all American budget cars are gas guzzlers. We have plsnty that feature light use engines with good fuel economy. Surprisingly, many of them are more responsive than their larger counterparts.

Get a mid-90s Cadillac and deck it out. Fuckin' pimpmobile right there. I hope to be getting an 88 Lincoln Continental that I'm gonna fix up and turn into a pimpmobile. Gonna be awesome.

@ Ali:
I doubt it. The trucks I mentioned were built entirely with speed in mind.

ali, the only way an automatic is gonna beat a manual is if they are two different cars, with the automatic being much more powerful. if they were equals, the manual will always win because you can go to redline before shifting while an automatic isn't gonna go past more then 3500RPM. also, one of those trucks prolly could outrun that BMW, and if not it will give it one hell of a run for it's money.

Not always true, ihh. I was driving around in a Sunfire a couple weeks ago and I got it WAY past 3500 RPM. Almost tipped the son of a bitch doing it but yeah, automatics can very easily push 3500 RPM.

Manuals are better than autos. Some autos can have slightly better performance, but if you can't feel it, whats the point?
Manuals are more fun, if I want someone to drive for me I'd catch the bus...
