I only use Internal Error, i've tried others... but it was totally unnecessary for me, so i went back to bad ol' IE, although i don't know what kind of stuff you do over the Internet that makes you change browsers

I like having the choice to remove ads on a site. Thus, Firefox with Adblock Plus for me. Viewing some pages in IE now makes me cringe at the ads.

Still mainly using Opera (9.5beta) most of the time, but using Safari 3.1 more and more. Its not as feature packed, but 3.1 adds inline spellchecking, a fell dev tools, and as it always has been, faster, more secure, more complient, than anything else out there.
Do however use FF for Uni, because I need proxy settings. And every time its a disapointment. It really does kinda suck. Perhaps if Mozilla axed their project to build a new browser from scratch to avoid the bloatware its become, and work for standards complience and security...

I like IE7. Mainly I use IE8 (a beta test only). Firefu*ks rules too!

But for me, the best is IE7. It helps my computer ward off virus or malwares, lagwares, spywares, spamwares and whatever wares etc.

PS. Mozilla and Netscape sucks.

I'm the second other.

In the past I mostly used Orca, a shell for FF 1.5, yet due to some issues starting to appear at important university sites, I'm in the market for a new browser.
Most likely it's going to be Safari or Opera. Can't quite decide yet. Perhaps it will end up being something else entirely :p

The reason i don't use IE7 is because of all the security hacks that my friends can find in it and all of Micro's spyware and stuff that is linked through it. i'll stick with IE5+6 and Mozilla Thunderbird.

The best bit with Safari is probably the EULA, but you only see that once

Or "Don't install on a non Apple branded machine". It's in there!

Most likely it's going to be Safari or Opera. Can't quite decide yet.

Depends what you want. Safari's good and fast and easy for lightweight browsing (few tabs and not doing much else). Inline spellcheck, snapback feature, well-managed bookmarks, and the best RSS reader of any browser. Unfortunately, if you're using RSS a lot you'll prob want something like Google Reader to organise them, and make this obsolete. Why? Speed, simplicity, and snippet editor and analysis tools. Why not? Tab control when multitasking gets annoying (but then, I'm used to Opera mouse shortcuts), looks out of place on windows.
Opera is power user. Customise everything, and keyboard, mouse and voice shortcuts for everything. Faster than all but Webkit. Why? Devtools and editing from cache is good for debugging and playing. Unparalled ease of use. Downloads manager, inbuilt bittorrent, mail and chat clients, and web pannels. Why not? Sometimes, you just don't need all that. Java isn't always awesome.

I enjoy Firefox mainly because of the extensions. Also, the session restore thing is great. And most of the sites renders very well on it. I also like Opera. It is faster, but not as user friendly as Firefox.

What I hate most is IE6 and 7. They gave me far too much headache with implementation of certain Revora features like the network bar...and even the old network bar was a pain in the ass to make it work correctly with it, if the page had a vertical scroll bar. And even putting Revora aside, they give me a lot of headaches with other sites and they are far too much targeted by crackers.

Well, it's doesn't look like Safari will be the winner for two main reasons.

1. The tabs. I use them extensively and got really used to the way Orca works with them. I wouldn't say Safari has it wrong, but it's just too different from what I'm used to work with.
2. Another feature I use extensively is the ability to use shortcuts for searchengines and urls, both of which are unavailable in Safari.

Opera looks good so far. I'm not a power user, but I can live with having options I don't use, as long as the ones I do use are there :wink_new:
The way the tabs work is a lot more similar to what I'm used to and the searchengine shortcuts work too.
The url aliases don't, so I'm still looking for a solution to that, if there is one.

Edit: Just found that Opera does have url aliases too, called nicknames in the properties of bookmarks. Brilliant. :)

Haha, forgot to mention the addybar custom searches, and thats something I use daily! And the causes of problems when I use other browser :good:

So how do orca tabs work?

And whilst FF does have session, it annoys me you can't save them. True, I don't save them in Opera, but thats largely because an Opera stable is built like a brick shithouse encased in diamond, and I just go with numberous windows open on different desktops, but if it can save them automatically, why not let users? Atm is something halfway between a useful feature and life insurance, its more like acknowledgement that it will crash or need restarting. Though I may just be getting petty :p Does it keep the tab history when it crashes?

Been trying out Opera today...

The custom search/url-aliases thingy is brilliant (can you do this in FF?), and if I wasn't using that so much the grid thingy would be too. However I miss the inline spellchecker and I hate pop-up search bars (though I managed to findout how to sort of fix this). Lack of decent extensions too (On FF, I have Adblock Plus (disabled on Revora :p), Download em All and Web Developer) is annoying, and for me at least - it seems slower to load up pages than Firefox, though 100X faster to boot up. It was more stable though.

Had another brief go with Safari - I hate the grey UI, the inline spellchecker is good but it offers little beyond basic browsing imo.

In conclusion, provided FF3 is more stable and cuts down on CPU usage and memory leaks, I will probably stick with it. However, if Opera were to "fix" those "issues" I mentioned, a switch is very possible.

Opera's dev tools combined with the inbuilt stylesheet switcher, js toggles, etc., pretty much cover the developer toolbar in FF, and you can edit files in the source view and reload the changes from the cache so there no need for firebug. No idea what the download thingy you mentioned does, and I don't agree with the idea of adbockplus, but the devtoolbar is one thing FF needs on.
It should actually be faster, and if you try one of the 9.5betas, they're ridicously faster. For the search bar, you can just place a search box anywhere in the browser. And as for the spellchecking, I can't actually see it changing anytime soon. Inline would be great, but instead they opted for a 3rd party spellchecker. Which is great, if you had enough other programs using it, but I think I've only ever had one other, and can't remember what it was.
Think we're all looking forward to see FF3 get out, its just a shame you only want it to crash less, because I only want it to browse the web, and I don't think we'll both get lucky :p

I personally find FF's web developer toolbar far superior to what Opera can offer. It is probably the one reason I'm still using FF (together with Opera) to work on markup and styles.
