This news post shows two rare German heavy tanks that not many of you will probably know about. AFAIK this is the first time either of them have been seen in a computer game.

This tank is the result of the Germans secret rearmament program in the 30's. It was however never put into full production & its biggest contribution was to the propaganda war where photos of the few that where made where seen on parade to give the impression that Germany had many heavy tanks. As well as the photos several of them took part in the invasion of Norway to intimidate the British, they were destroyed tho. The few that where left took part in the invasion of Russia where they where also destroyed thus ending the life of one of Germanys most unique tanks. This tank is available in the pre-war time period of D-day.

The Leopard was somewhat of a tank before it's time & was one of the first two tanks from the Tiger lineage. The prototype was built in 1941 without a turret & tested extensively. The turret even tho never fitted was the first designs of the classic rounded shape that is so iconic to the later Tiger. Testing of the prototype carried on until 1942 & the information gathered was then used in the development of the Tiger (P). The Leopard can't be build in any time period but is available from bonus creates early-war & onwards.

Well the TR site is being removed (when I get round to it), I'll probably make some stuff for the site that replaces it tho.

Nice Tanks  ! ...........Never heard or seen this tank.

BTW what are the chances of getting this kind of tank from crates, is it 50-50 chances?

There is a 1:5 chance of getting a unit from a crate & about a 1:400 chance of getting a specific unit. It really depends on what time period you playing in too, as the later in the war the more units that will be available etc.

You know I think the Leopard is a bit plain looking, I was tempted to add the three colour camo to make it a bit more interesting :/

I'd just add another border shade to the panels, but thats me  My beta Mk.I has about 7 shades of brown defining the panel edges
Not much color depth you can add to grey, but might make it look less plasticy

Must be big panels  I don’t like to use more then one shade on simple edges, I only do that for larger stuff to help define it better.
