It feels good to have an 8800GTX. I settled for a single card, the Video Ram counts against the systems total memory max (4gig total, 768 Vid card eats alot, and X2 for SLI was just too much RAM used)

Still even with only one GTX I can play Crysis on high settings, high resolution, and DX10. Its sooooooo preeettttyyy

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

Crysis is overrated imo... its too 'soft' with little feeling for the raw and bloody thing that is war. blood should gush and enemies fall after a shot straight to the head. like in STALKER!

Well all of you should know that Crysis was developed in Germany and Crytek's HQ is in Germany too since there has been a lot of Political Discussion about games with violence here, going even so far for a ban of production of such games I would guess that they settled wit h a certain grade of violence, and well I don't if a fuck about that there isn't enough blood in your opinion, if you want to see blood and dead bodies go to Iraq Somalia Afgahnistan, or in whatever region in the world where there is war and people are dieing.
By the way my comp with an 8800GTS 640 can handel crysis on High settings and DX10^^ it can even go with Highest settings even if you recognize a slower game then.

3 things about Crysis...

1. Its not overrated. Its a simply increadible game. I love it. Its by far the most beutiful game I've ever seen, and its gameplay is as good as the grafix. I've played it from start to end twice, and I've had a totoly different game each time.

2. While visiting a friend I played Crysis on a late DX9 card. I nearly cried, the game uses DX10 so much I had gotten spoiled using my system. It still looked above average, but it lacked the jaw dropping effects that I've become so attached to. So I encourage you to withhold judgment until you've sat and played the game in DX10. It makes a huge difference. Crysis is the first game to TRUELY use DX10 to its fullest, and the result is just astounding. Better FPS with 20x the grafic effects.

3. The game has blood, but its turned off by default, you can add it in the game options. Its not alot of blood, but its there, exit wounds spray a little, boddies on the ground leak a little. Flipping that switch may satiate some of your blood-lust. Personaly, I don't measure the worth of the game in liters of blood spilled. I prefer to judge gameplay first, and then grafic apeal (FPShooters need good grafix)

i don't know what u got upset about drake, but since u rate my opinion as less to yours, screw you.

blood is simply realistic, since when do guns not make you bleed... alot? not to mention switch and convulse..

we all have different opinions (well, me vs the lot of you), so I'll just wait for Postal 3. :D

I didn't care for the Postal games... infact, I hated them. Soldire of fortune is a much better bloodbath game, but honestly the last time I enjoyed a SoF game was the first one back in 1999. Gore alone doesn't constitute good gameplay, and adding it does very little to add to already good gameplay. adding Blood is fine, but MORE blood isn't realistic... body location damage and exit wound spray add more to realism than a man spashing 10 gallons of blood from a flesh wound.

Blood is Realistic , yes, but its an added ounce of realism that I think doesn't go nearly as far as adding realistic physics or well even modern visuals such as motion-blur or voulumetric fog. Honestly, if we're aiming for "Realism" as the key factor in gameplay (which I still frown on) blood is pretty low on the list for gameplay impacting realism. I'd rather see realism that impacts the way we play the game.

But thats just my opinion.

My personal favorite FPS at the moment has to be Team fortress 2.
absolutly GODLY balanced, SO much fun, the graphics are absolutly brilliant ( even on low setting), every class is useful and needed to win and the characters are so personalised. You actually feal like you are the heavy, or the demo man, because of the things they say. you can see the facial experessions and thier lips moving to the words. the facial animation is fantastic.
Also, some of the things the characters come out with have had me in stitches!

Overall, a 10/10 tbh, Valve make great games, not to mention awsome sounds tracks.

HalfLife2 + Smod Tactical = superior!

200th post ftw =)

edit: proof of people loving blood and gore. What do you get if you take TES4:Oblivion and add lots of blood, gore and flying bodyparts? The currently number 1 mod!
